Hi I'm Aaron

My life has been irreversibly linked to China and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband a student and an expectant father. I am double majoring in Finance and Chinese at Arizona State University and am married to the love of my life. We have been married for 3 years and are expecting our first child in March. I am the youngest of 4 boys and have been blessed with loving parents. I love to play and watch soccer and also enjoy a good game of tennis with my wife. I have spent 3 of the last 6 years living in the greater China area and love the people and the language. I hope to someday use my language skills in a career that will help me to provide for my family.

Why I am a Mormon

From a practical point of view I am a Mormon because I was born into a Mormon family. My parents joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when they were just starting their family. In my youth I relied heavily on the testimonies and conviction of those around me and trusted that they knew for themselves that it was true. It was not until I was in Junior High School that I started to question and desire to know for myself whether this church that I had been born into really was Christ’s true church restored again to the earth. My own testimony began as a fire that needed constant nourishment. I gained more knowledge and wisdom from learning and applying the teachings that I found in the scriptures. By the end of High School I had a burning testimony that The Book of Mormon really was another testament of Jesus Christ and that it had been translated by the gift and power of God by Joseph Smith. I knew that Jesus Christ had restored his church again on the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. This testimony continued to grow and develop while I served a mission in Taiwan. I had the opportunity to teach and testify to my brothers and sister in that great nation about the things that I knew were true. This brought joy into my life that is both hard to describe and hard to come by. I simple can't imagine facing life without the knowledge and faith that I have in God and his plan for my family and me.

How I live my faith

The gospel has woven its threads throughout my life and has shaped me into the man I am today and the man I hope to become in the future. The gospel has taught me about the importance of families and my relationship with my wife. I have come to know that these relationships are the most important things to be developed and cared for while in this life and can be eternal. I strive to live worthy of the love that I receive from my wonderful wife and to serve her in any way that I can. Through daily study in the scriptures and prayer to my Heavenly Father I have come to know for myself the purpose of life, the importance and reality of my Savior Jesus Christ and the miracle of repentance.
