Hi I'm Nate

I like to skateboard and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a university student studying political science, who enjoys skateboarding, running triathlons, and listening to good music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon household. As a young child I was taught about Jesus Christ and his gospel. My parents took me to church functions regularly throughout my child hood. I enjoyed the friends I made and the lessons that were taught, however I was there on my parents account. The time came when I left the house to live on my own and a big decision had to be made, that decision was whether I was going to keep attending church or do something else with my time. Throughout those first couple of weeks of being on my own I did a lot of soul searching and praying. I soon came to realize that all I had learned was true. The Holy Ghost whispered to my soul that Jesus Christ lived and that he had restored his church through the prophet Joseph Smith. After that confirmation I received there was a new resolution in my heart to be a strong member of the Mormon Church. A year after this experience I had the opportunity to share the Mormon message with the beautiful people of Guatemala. I saw lives changed and blessed there. I now know that the Mormon Church is true, that God is our loving Heavenly father, and that Jesus Christ came to this earth to die for us. I also know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that God loves us enough to have called a prophet on this earth today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by fully participating in the Mormon church. This includes helping members and non-member alike. Through the church I have been given many opportunites to perform service. This service includes everything from helping a neighbor move his furniture, to volunteering in a soup kitchen. Jesus Christ lived to serve us, and as a church based off of Jesus Christ we see service as a vital part of worship.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

As a political science major this is a question that is often asked to me. The answer is that the church does NOT endorse political parties. We rocognize that there is good in all parties and that it is the individual decision of every member to choose for whom they want to associate themselves with politicaly. Show more Show less
