Hi I'm Jonathan

I'm a Returned Missionary, a brother, a son, a caring friend, a Christian, a gamer, a "jack-of-all-trades." And I'm a mormon.

About Me

I went to Central Virginia Community College. I like hanging out with my friends and family and helping people with things they don't understand. I also like reading all sorts of books, mostly fantasy/fiction, and playing all sorts of games (board, electrionic, physical). I never was a popular guy during school because i was different from everyone else. They didn't have the same standards that I did so I was "different". I gained a testimony of The Book of Mormon and decided to go and serve the Lord for two years devoting all of my time and talents to His work and helping others to find the joy that they can have, that I have found in my own life.

Why I am a Mormon

There was a time in my life where I stoped paying attention in church. I would go just because my parents wouldn't let anyone stay home alone. So I went but I didn't pay any attention. It took me several long years to receive a witness that The Book of Mormon was true. When I received that witness, it changed my life so much that I decided that I was going to go serve a two year mission. It took a little while to take care of things so that I could go, but I have let nothing stop me from doing what it took to be able to serve a mission. "You don't know what you have until you loose it," and in my case, find it again. I testify with all of my heart and soul, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the TRUE Church of Jesus Christ restored again to the Earth in these days to help us prepare for the Second-Coming of Jesus Christ. I testify that if you read and pray about The Book of Mormon, truly desiring to know if it is the true word of God, along with the Bible, the Lord will answer your prayer through the feelings/fruits (Galatians 5:22-23) of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

As a Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we study the Scriptures for two hours a day for 2 years and we go out and we share what we learn from the Scriptures. There are 365 days in a year. Times that by two and you have about 730 days in two years. Take that and put two hours to every day and you have 1,460 hours of scripture study time. That is more then enough hours to get a degree in Religion. There is so much that gets over looked in the scriptures by everyone and I am only beginning to learn the "tip-of-the-ice-berg" of it even with all the studytime. I am so thankful to be serving the Lord for these two years and being allowed by the Holy Ghost to learn these things that I was missing out on.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Missionaries will Talk about the Gospel and Doctrine of Jesus Christ. About what He did and why He did it for us and who "us" is. They will talk about how The Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible go "hand-in-hand" together. They will talk about the purpose of life, where we were before we were born and where we go after death and how we can be runited forever with our families and with God and Jesus Christ. These things are what they teach. They also answer whatever questions you have that pertain to the scriptures. Show more Show less
