Hi I'm Kristi

I'm a busy mom of three, a wife, a public school educator and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a working mom of three incredible kids. I have been an elementary school teacher for 11 years. I enjoy the outdoors (camping, biking, hiking, long walks, observing nature), scrapbooking, singing, playing the piano, cooking, playing basketball, soccer and most importantly spending time with my incredible family. I love playing games and hanging out with friends and family. I would love to learn how to play the guitar and I have always wanted to be fluent in sign language.

Why I am a Mormon

Family means the world to me. I came from a large family and they are my best friends. I have a growing family and I am married to my best friend. Through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I am sealed to all of them for time and eternity. I can't imagine living without them, I wouldn't want to. I lost my father at a young age and because of that sealing power of the Priesthood I can be with him again someday. I look around each day at all the beautiful things my Heavenly Father has blessed me with and I give thanks. God lives, He loves me and I can see that in everything around me. He wants us to be happy. He knows my pains and my joys. In times of need, I get down on my knees and ask for His comfort and guidance. He answers my prayers, it may not be the answer I think it should be, but He knows all things and in time I come to understand and learn what he has in store for me. I don't know how I would get through life without His loving guidance. As God spoke to the prophets of old, we have a living prophet on the earth today that leads and guides His church. Jesus Christ sacrificed everything for me so that I could return to live with my Heavenly Father and my family for eternity. He knows my pain, He knows my sorrow and He knows my weaknesses and yet He willingly gave His life for me. Through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have learned of Jesus Christ, His atoning sacrifce and my Heavenly Father's plan for me.

How I live my faith

I help teach young children at church, I teach the women's group, I sing in our choir and I get to visit with incredible woman every month and learn with them about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have helped with canned food drives, blood drives, clothing drives, etc to support our local needs. I am also a soccer coach, basketball coach and I love giving back to the community in any way that I can. Jesus was the ultimate example of serving others and I try very hard to follow His example.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Kristi
Jesus was baptised and so we must be baptised. God loves all of His children. For those who lived on the earth when the proper Priesthood authority was not on the earth, they need to have the opportunity to be baptised under that authority. There are those who never had the opportunity to be baptised, why would He deny that blessing of them? We act on their behalf, it is still their choice whether or not they accept the Gospel.
