Hi I'm John E. Rappleye

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I’m an international businessman, terrible golfer, good scuba diver, father of 3, and grandfather of 4. I am very much in love with my wife after nearly 40 years together, and I’m a Mormon. I spent my youth growing up in Idaho and Utah. After serving a 2 year Mormon mission in Brazil, I knew I wanted to have more international experiences. That led to a 39 year career with Bridgestone/Firestone with 7 assignments living in different Latin American countries. We fell in love with Latin America and the friendships that we developed there.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents were born into Mormon families so I learned about the religion from birth. Never the less, I went through a conversion process when I was a teenager, putting to the test, if you will, the things I had been taught. I learned to know it is true just as anyone else does learning, pondering, sincerely asking God and listening to the answer. It has been a huge blessing to my family and me. We not only have seen hundreds of people join the church but have also been privileged to observe how their lives have been blessed over the years.

How I live my faith

Considering that the great commandment is to Love the Lord and the second, to love our neighbors, I find it appropriate that the Church provides us numerous opportunities to serve. I guess I have always been active in Church activities and service and have always enjoyed it. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life and it gives me great satisfaction to see my children, grandchildren and friends received blessings in their lives by actively embracing it.
