Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a mom, I love to create, I'm trying to learn new things all the time, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom of 4 children and most of my day is filled with helping them as my husband takes care of us by going to work and school. I love being a mom and am slowly learning how to balance marriage, children, church, family, hobbies and other tasks. If you catch me being creative, most likely, the house will be messy, the kids will be playing or sleeping and I'll be at the sewing machine. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a long line of Mormons in my family, but becoming one myself was a personal decision. Even at the age of eight, I knew that Jesus was my Savior. Since then, my understanding of His gospel and sacrifice has grown. I find peace in the gospel. I have been strengthened, lifted and guided throughout my life. I cannot deny that the Lord has blessed me and my family multiple times. I'm so grateful to feel the peace and joy that comes through the truth.

How I live my faith

I help 10 year old cub scouts through the cub scout program.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Rachel
Modesty and chastity are related because they both encourage respect for one's self. As a woman, I have felt bombarded by all the wrong messages sent to women on how to dress. When we dress immodestly, although we may not realize it, it can give a message that do not respect ourselves. It detracts from having relationships that are more focused on who we really are. Being unchaste shows that we may not understand who we really are. We are God's children. We must respect ourselves and each other to keep the laws the Lord has set! They are for our good. Living a modest and chaste life gives confidence! Our relationships are pure and we gain greater understanding that we are children of God. Show more Show less
