Hi I'm Scott

Raised in Utah, raised our children in Arizona and now live in West Texas. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 32 years with five wonderful children and nine grand children. I was raised a Mormon, but my family was not what you would consider practicing Mormons. I am the only person in my family involved with the LDS church today. Like many people my age, I lost one of my parents; my father passed ten years ago but I am glad for the many years he influenced my life. I like to run (some would call it jogging), read, repair my cars (and anything else). I find particular joy spending time with young people and Seniors as that is what I spend my work time engaged in. After 23 years in Scottsdale, Arizona, we moved to Lubbock, Texas.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised a Mormon, my parents, although good people, were not committed to the Gospel. Like many people, I wanted to know for myself if this religion, what I was raised to believe, was true or not. I spent much time meditating and praying to know if this was right. I know for myself the Church of Jesus Christ was restored in these latter days by the Prophet Joseph Smith, that he translated an ancient record into the Book of Mormon, and that the church is led today by a living prophet. I know we have a loving Heavenly Father whose son atoned for our sins and that through the ordinances of the temple and the Priesthood, we can enjoy the blessings of exaltation. This knowledge is a great blessing and comfort to me and it is knowledge all can possess.

How I live my faith

I think the best way for anyone to "live their faith" is through serving others. The only way Heavenly Father can care for all of his children on this earth is through us. I enjoy visitng people and taking time to get to know them. I sincerely try to be a better person each day. I do my best to teach my five children how to be good citizens, to be courteous of others, to help other people and to be generous with what you have. This is the Saviour's example to all of us; to love one another.
