Hi I'm Char

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Georgia as the youngest of 5 kids. I met my husband at college in Idaho. We have a 4 year old boy and were blessed with twins via fertility treatments in December of 2014. We love spending time together outdoors, but we also love to chill on the couch with ice cream and Netflix occasionally too. My family means everything to me. I love talking about my religion, so if you have any questions...please ask!

Why I am a Mormon

I have a very personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. I know that Jesus Christ is His son. When I was in my youth, I read James 1:5. It says: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” So I did! Like many others, I prayed and asked God if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was true, and I received my answer, without a doubt, that this church is true! He answered my prayer then, and continues to answer my prayers today. He loves us more than we could ever comprehend, and knows every detail of our lives. It is so comforting to me to know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the same church that Christ organized when He was on earth. It has been restored for our day and time. Our Heavenly Father speaks to us today, not only through personal revelation, but also through His Prophet's and Apostles, just like in biblical times. I'm not perfect, but I know that through Christ, I can become so. Everyday I am learning knew things, and am striving to live my life like I know my Savior wants me to. I know that if I keep His commandments, I will be able to return to live with my Father in Heaven, and that I will be able to be with my family forever through covenants I have made in His holy temple, and nothing makes me happier to have that knowledge. I absolutely love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life as my Father in Heaven would have me live it. I'm constantly praying, and trying to make good choices. I love learning about the life of Jesus Christ, and I strive to follow His example in all that I do. I love participating in church meetings on Sundays. Praying and studying the scriptures daily always makes me happy, and I absolutely love attending the temple-It brings me closer to my Heavenly Father.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

In ancient times, we read in the bible, that the Lord directed Solomon to build a temple. Temples have been restored on the earth for our day and time. Temples are houses of the Lord. We hold our temples to be very sacred places. The temple is a place where: eternal truths are learned, covenants, or two way promises, are made between individuals and the Lord, and a place where church members participate in ordinances designed to unite their families together forever. Only baptized members of the church, who are qualified and prepared, may enter into a temple. My husband and I were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. In the temple, we made covenants to each other and to God. Because of these covenants we will be together even after this life. I love knowing that the family we create on earth can be together even after death. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The bible is a record of the revelations and teachings of prophets who lived thousands of years ago- it is a witness that Jesus is the Christ. The Book of Mormon is another witness that Jesus Christ really lived. It contains revelations and teachings of ancient prophets. One of these prophets, Lehi, who lived in Jerusalem around 600 B.C was commanded by God to lead a small group of people to the American continent. They grew in numbers, and God called many prophets among these people. The Book of Mormon contains recordings that Christ appeared, after His Resurrection, to the people in America. Christ taught them His gospel. The Book of Mormon (named after one of the last of these ancient prophets) testifies of Jesus Christ, and His gospel, atonement, resurrection, and His role in Heavenly Father's plan as Savior and Redeemer. The Book of Mormon also teaches us how to live so that we can be happy, and it teaches us what we must do to return to live with him again. The Book of Mormon supports and proves that the Bible is true. Both the Bible and the Book of Mormon testify of Jesus Christ. Both are equally important. Show more Show less
