Hi I'm Tiffany

I'm a violinist, a recent college graduate, and someone who loves to laugh. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I just graduated from college in Music Performance. I love playing the violin and music in general. I hope to some day be in a professional orchestra and have my own violin teaching studio. I want to teach violinsits who did not have the chance to start with the correct playing techniques, and show them that they do not have to be held back by thier circumstances as long as they patiently work hard. I would love to work with those students because I have been there as well. I look forward to possibly getting a masters degree in violin pedagogy and being a mother someday. I love to laugh and make others laugh as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church but I have stayed a member especially since I have moved away from home because of the happiness it brings me. I have definitely had my share of trials and heartache, but I've been able to bear them because of the perspective this gospel gives me and the knowledge that all these things are just helping me to grow. College is difficult. This has proven especially true for me in so many ways. I choose a major that expects all your time and energy, often by giving up everything else to gain the perfection audiences are expecting. There is not a single day that I don't fall short or find another problem in my violin playing to fix. It can become a very self degrading time being constantly critiqued while trying to gain the unobtainable goal of a perfect performance. Each day I have learned to trust my savior to help me. He is not going to take away all my flaws in my playing but he can help overcome my fears and he has felt the constant struggle I go through every day in and out of school. I may never play a perfect performance on the violin but through his love for me some day I can become perfect even as he is. My worries are important to him because they are important to me and how, after I have felt such love and had such a knowledge of my savior, cannot I not participate in the gospel that makes that and so many other things known to me.

How I live my faith

Everyday I make decisions to follow this gospel. Currently I am volunteering my time as a full time missionary to teach the gospel. Girls are not expected to go on missions, it is purely our choice. I am choosing to serve because I have seen what the gospel has done in my life and the lives of my close friends who have only been members for a few years. I want to share that joy with others. My life would never be the same without the converts that I lived by this past year. Their sincerest desire is to bring others like them into the gospel, so I am choosing of my own free will and choice to go out and share this message. I'm giving up a year and a half of my life right out of college in my early twenties to pay to go out and be a missionary because its true and it's worth it.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is your own personal knowledge, gained through study and prayer, that something is true. For example, you can have a testimony that Jesus is your savior or that President Monson is a true prophet of God. It is important that every member of the church gains that knowledge, or testimony, of such things. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Coming to know our Heavenly Father is just like getting to know any other person. When you meet someone you have to spend time with them to gain an understanding of who they are, how they act and what kind of person they are. Heavenly Father has provided many ways for us to get to know him better. *He has given us the scriptures which tell of Him and His Son. We can read His words and see His dealings with those ancient people who wrote down those messages for us. *Heavenly Father sends honest and reliable messengers as prophets and aposltes to give us direct counsel straight from Him on how we should live our lives. As we follow that counsel we come to understand why Heavenly Father gave us that direction and therefore understand His love for us more fully. *He also sends missionaries to share and preach the things He wants all His children to know about Him. Missionaries are sent all over the world so that everyone can have a chance to listen and learn this message. They are trained to be able to teach everyone ways to come to know our Heavenly Father. *Lastly Heavenly Father asks and invites us all to speak personally to Him through prayer. The more we talk to Him and listen to His answers and the feelings we have while praying the better we will be able to know and understand HIm. Show more Show less
