Hi I'm Nate

I'm a mountaineer, a triathlete, a car enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a newly wed. I was sealed to m wife on February 9th 2013 in the Fresno California Temple. Married life is the best. I also enjoy playing sports like basketball. Growing up my family spent a lot of time outdoors. We went backpacking, fishing, hunting, rafting, and rock climbing. Now that I am older, I still enjoy the outdoors every now and then, but lately I have found a new love for american history. Not something I thought I would ever be interested in. It is fascinating to see how Heavenly Father played a role in the development of the United States and the many blessings that came. I spend more time reading educational books and thinking about career opportunities now. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and know that I would not be where I am today without it.

Why I am a Mormon

To be honest I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My parents taught me its principles and teachings. When I was a young adult though I had the opportunity to decide for myself if this was the path for me. My parents encouraged me to do as the church teaches and discover for myself the truth about this gospel and its teaching. I spent some time with friends who were not of my faith and I soon realized how lost they seemed. This gave me motivation to read the Book of Mormon and pray to see if the things it taught were true. And as it turns out, I felt, and continue to feel on a regular basis, a feeling of overwhelming joy when I read and follow the principles taught in the Book of Mormon. This is a testimony to me that it is a true book, translated by the power of God through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Since that time my testimony has only grown as I continue to follow what the church teaches. Its teachings have protected me and lead me down a path of immense joy and happiness. This joy and happiness is here for everyone that is willing to find out for themselves by reading the Book of Mormon, and I would encourage all who have not yet experienced this joy to pick up the Book of Mormon and bask in its truth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my example. I try to be a good example to the community by serving them. Just the other day I stopped to help a lady who had run out of gas in a precarious place. I was with a friend who helped me get her car to the side of the road safely and then watch over it as her and her husband went to the gas station. They seemed surprised by our service but it is the least we could do. They invited us over for hot chocolate afterwards, probably because it was raining and cold. It was a great opportunity to get to know members of the community and share our example with them, hoping they would do the same.
