Hi I'm Anna

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an avid student of the scriptures, and I love medical school. I love to learn about Jesus Christ, and I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church on the earth today.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it feels right. It jives with my spirit and provides the bright light of clarity in a world of confusion and darkness. I love Jesus Christ. He is truly my best friend. I love the Nauvoo, Illinois Temple. I have multiple pictures of temples in my home, on my technology, and in my heart. I love Temples and the concept that families are eternal, the scriptures (Book of Mormon, Bible, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price), the fact that we have living apostles and prophets in our day, and the power of covenant keeping.

How I live my faith

I read the Book of Mormon and the Bible every day. I always pray for understanding and application every time I read the scriptures. I know that practice makes perfect, and that through the Atonement of Christ, we can feel the power of his merits, mercy, and grace.

What is faith?

Anna
Faith is believing in something you haven't yet seen. Faith is a principle of action, and it means going and doing instead of merely thinking about taking action.  Show more Show less

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Anna
Self-reliance is an important part of being a Mormon because it allows you to help others. Whenever I think of the concept of self-reliance, I am reminded of the safety drill airlines do at the beginning of each flight put on your oxygen mask before you help others. You never know when your resources will be needed to help others. It's best to be prepared.   Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Anna
Absolutely not. Joseph Smith was the prophet of the restoration, and we are deeply grateful for him, but we worship God, not man. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Anna
Reading the Book of Mormon helped me to become a better reader when I was little. I read aloud to my mom in the car as we drove around doing errands, to and from school, etc. I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true at the end of that time reading it when I was nine. As a missionary, I discovered the truth of Moroni's promise (Book of Mormon, Moroni 10:3-5) that if you ask with real intent, faith in Christ, and a desire to believe, you will know for yourself that this book is true! I deepen my love for Jesus Christ each time I read this sacred, marvelous book. It is true, and I will continue to read it throughout my life. Show more Show less
