Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon Missionary serving in the Michigan, Lansing mission.

About Me

I'm 19 years old, soon to be 20 on February 15th. I love sports, food, family, and this beautiful Gospel. I'm the youngest of 4 kids and have a mom and dad that I love very much. I probably love more than anything just spending time with people. I've learned 90% of everything I know from my experiences with different people. After my mission I want to go to college in Utah, and eventually go into Psychiatry.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because there are 2 things that it provides me that no other church or religion could. The first is an earthly family that spreads across the world that lives in every member of this church. I know that no matter where in the world I go, I can get together with members of this church and will be loved and well taken care of. The second is because being a Mormon provides answers that no other church does, or can. What happens to those that die without being baptized? Do I get to live with my family forever? Where was I before I came to this earth? What does it take to get into "heaven"? I love having the knowledge that provides me answers to these questions, and love even more getting to share those answers with the people of Michigan! And the best part? I get to do it full-time for 2 years!

How I live my faith

I strongly believe that true faith changes not only your Sunday schedule, but your entire lifestyle. For 2 years I'm away from family, friends, and the comfort of home and do so gladly and even gratefully so that I can help as many people as possible come to the same knowledge that I have. That the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the same one that He established while here on this earth over 2,000 years ago, has once again been restored to the earth. And that it is not a church run by man, but by God through a living prophet in President Thomas S. Monson. I love my Savior and I strive daily to live a life patterned after His own. I fall short every day but I also know that I can repent and be forgiven of my sins which I do every night when I pray.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

There is no earthly man that is worthy of worship. Joseph Smith was just that, an earthly man. He was an extraordinary man! But still a mere mortal. Those that we worship are God, our eternal Heavenly Father, his Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. That's it! Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

We can come to know our Father in Heaven just like we come to know our neighbors and friends by talking with Him! The only difference is that we don't pray to our friends and neighbors, that is reserved for Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ So if you want to get to know God your Father in Heaven, it all starts from a kneeling position, and then let Him know what's on your mind. And the coolest part? He talks back! But you have to give it a try to find out if it really works! Show more Show less
