Hi I'm Jenna!

I love wilderness survival, organic food, Jesus Christ, my family of 12, my photography talent, and being a Missionary!

About Me

I am having the greatest opportunity to serve a mission for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and am currently laboring in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission! It rocks! My life has been so blessed and I owe my entire life to them. I know that I am nothing without God, and that is why I am serving Him! If you are thinking about serving a mission, it will be one of the best decisions of your LIFE! My eternal family is my greatest blessing in life! I am the oldest of 10 children! Together we face life's challenges with faith and trust in God...like everyone, we have endured many trials! We love and understand sacrifice and why we face challenges in this world. We work hard together building the kingdom of God! We LOVE LIFE! We love to take family bike trips, road trips, hike, hunt, explore, create, swim, eat healthy, go to the beach, go to church, and wherever we go we always have our own baseball, basketball, volleyball, football, soccer, kickball and ultimate frisbee team! We always have friends over at our home! In fact, they will do our dishes just to stay longer! They feel the Holy Ghost in our home. It is a feeling of great peace. I love my home! When I return from my mission in June 2012, I will continue my professional photography business and eventually start a family of my own! I started my business when I was 16 and had the chance to live in NYC and work with photographers! I love to live! I love my Heavenly Father!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon you ask? Because I LOVE being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! It stands for truth and righteousness. It stands for Christ! It has given me the answers to my soul's questions of WHO I am, WHY I am here on this earth, and WHERE we go after this life! I grow spiritually through scripture study and prayer. I love having a relationship with my Heavenly Father, and knowing that He cares for me and knows me. I love the fact that my family can live together for eternity. I love how this religion helps you set eternal goals. This church makes me want to be a better person! I definetly am very HAPPY and LOVE LIFE and am so thankful to have the gospel of Jesus Christ fill my life with JOY. I want to share with EVERYONE my Joy that comes from living the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

How I live my faith

Now this is the exciting part! I pray to Heavenly Father everyday. I am always trying to do better! I've received a whitness that God is there for us. He loves us. I've only been able to overcome my challenges by putting my faith and trust in Christ and Heavenly Father. I've made the decision to follow Him and believe his words. I don't just go to church or read my scriptures because I should. I do it because I WANT to. I don't pay my tithing, and love my neighbor just because it's a commandment. I put my WHOLE heart and soul into the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ. I TRUST Him by putting aside my doubts and fears. By doing so my testimony has been founded on the strength and whitnesses God gives me, after the trial of my faith! I also love to serve others. This is something my parents have taught me from a very young age.

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Jenna!
Eternal life is our destiny. Heavenly Father wants all of His precious children to live a righteous life so they can return to live with Him. This life is actually just a small part of our eternal existence. The decisions we make today, impact our eternal life. We are eternal beings having a mortal experience. Show more Show less

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Jenna!
Its not everyday that someone tells you your body is a temple! We know that we were created in the image of a God. Heavenly Father created our bodies to keep our heavenly spirits in them. It is SO important to keep our earthly vessels clean from clutter! First, we must keep our minds clean, free of dirty thoughts. This allows us to focus on Jesus Christ, feel the Holy Ghost, and to know the direction God has for our lives. Picture what a temple looks like, and keep your body clean and pure. A temple is white and not full of muddy foot prints. God's spirit can only dwell in clean places. Repentance cleans the muddy foot prints. You can't be drinking in a bar, and touring the white house at the same time. Second, we are taught that if we keep our bodies free from exsessive piercings, tattoos, and covered in a modest way, we will feel amazing and know the direction God wants us to go. God gave us bodies to take care of them! Thats why this is most important. He didn't put our spirits into squirells! haha! Look at who we are out of ALL God's creations! The Grand Canyon was created by God, for us! We feel beautiful and work the best when our bodies are healthy, active, and ready to do the work He wants us to do. What is the Book of Mormon?

Jenna!
The Book of Mormon is another witness that Jesus Christ really lived, that He was and is God’s Son. It contains the writings of ancient prophets. One of these, Lehi, lived in Jerusalem around 600 B.C. God commanded Lehi to lead a small group of people to the American continent. There they became a great civilization. God continued to call prophets among these people. The Book of Mormon is a collection of the writings of their prophets and record keepers. It is named after Mormon, one of the last of these ancient prophets. These prophets knew about Heavenly Father’s plan for His children and the mission of Jesus Christ. They recorded that Christ appeared, after His Resurrection, to the people in America, taught them His gospel, and formed His Church among them. The book contains the teachings of Jesus Christ, testifying of His Atonement and His love. It supports and verifies the Bible. The Book of Mormon concludes with a great promise that those who read it and sincerely pray about it can know by the Holy Ghost that it is true Moroni 104. This marvelous book was saved for our time! It gives us every direction to go in life! It influences me sooo much! I love this book! Read it! It is AMAZING and will change your life!! Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Jenna!
Its Awesome! As a child, my parents taught me solid gospel principals. As a youth we are taught the "Strength for Youth Standards." We attended Seminary, which is a church class which we go to every morning all 4 years of high school. Oh, did I mention it started at 6AM? Seminary has been the best part of my life thus far! As a young adult I have chosen to serve a mission. When I am finished with my mission I will get married in God's temple and start a big family of my own! We are taught to have personal and family scripture study and prayer. We attend church on Sundays and we attend weekly church activities! Mormons are also HUGE in doing Family History Work, and love to do lots of service! We love everyone!   Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Jenna!
Absolutely! Through and through! "We talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophecy of Christ..." 2 Nephi 25.26 We believe in Christ and we understand that it is only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ that we can be cleansed from our sins to return to our Heavenly Father and gain eternal life! Jesus Christ is the center of our religion. I LOVE HIM! He is my everlasting reason to rejoice!!!  Jesus is my Savior and Redeemer and I have come to know him personally through scripture study, prayer, and by having faith in Him and whitnessing His hand in my life, day after day. Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Jenna!
Not at all! We are all brothers and sisters here on this earth and should help each other. We are all the same. Mormons delight in freely giving service to anyone in need. I personally love to serve and serving brings me the greatest Joy. We become like Christ when we serve. Is not charity the pure love of Christ? The Mormon Faith is very active with emergency prepardness, and are of the first to respond to natural dissasters that happen across the world. We LOVE to serve! Yippie! Show more Show less

Who are the Mormons?

Jenna!
Mormons are those crazy happy people! Just Kidding, we are not crazy, but we ARE happy! Mormons know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are separate beings, but one in purpose. Like when a man and woman marry, they are still separate but one in purpose. We know families are ordained of God and can live together Forever! We know we can pray to Heavenly Father and that He is there ready to help us. God knows us personally and loves us. We are spiritual beings having a mortal experience. We are on this earth to be tested to see if we will choose good or evil. God knew we would chose evil, because we are not perfect like him, so He provided a way for us to get back to him. That way is through our Savior Jesus Christ. We know that God wants us to be happy, and we will be happy and recieve joy when we do what is right. Only then can Heavenly Father bless us, as he longs to do and does everyday. We are supposed to follow God's commandments, and to love our neighbor... to be the happy hands of Christ!   Show more Show less

What is the First Vision?

Jenna!
Joseph Smith was a young man living in upper state New York. There where many religions with conflicting views where he lived. He desired to know what church he should join. He was one day reading in James chapter 1 verse 5. He read "if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God." That is what Joseph Smith did. We went into a grove of trees and offered up his first vocal prayer. What happened to him was amazing. God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared unto him. They told him that they would restore the Church of Jesus Christ agian on the earth through him, by calling him to be the next prophet! How marvelous this event was! God has always called prophets on the earth and angels have appered to them. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith because I have prayed to know if it was true. I continually recieve a peaceful feeling in my heart that confirms the truth of this first vision in these latter days. Show more Show less
