Hi I'm Joanna

I'm a disciple of Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Memphis, TN. Right now I'm serving as a full time missionary in Idaho. I've been accused of getting myself into too many hobbies at once, but I can't keep my hands still. My Mom is a piano teacher, so I grew up around music my whole life and love it! I love to play in the symphony and at home. I've had many incredible opportunities to travel the world and feel so grateful to have had those experiences. My favorite thing in the world to do is listen to some good tunes while I'm baking. I hope to one day open my own bakery/venue. The most important thing to me in the this life is my knowledge of the Restored Gospel and my family. No matter what happens in life, I know that I can turn to God and my family for the support I need.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had too many witnesses to ever deny the power that is in the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints. Knowing that my family can be together forever, is the greatest blessing that I could ever ask for. As I let myself learn more and let the spirit manifest the truthfulness of the gospel to me, I couldn't imagine any other place I would want to be. I know that this is the true church of God and that it is the greatest gift we could give to anyone. Facing trials, I've been able to lean on the gospel and be comforted by the power of the Holy Ghost. I've been blessed to have the gospel in my life and to have faithful parents and siblings that love me enough to help me a long the way. Christ lives, and has restored His gospel to the earth...that's why I'm Mormon.

How I live my faith

Every day, I wake up and thank my Heavenly Father for the wonderful things He has given me. I look around and see the beautiful things He has created. I treasure the scriptures and learn from the pages. I live my faith by the way I treat others and respect myself. As I constantly strive to remove myself from me and serve others, I come closer to my Heavenly Father and grow in His strength. I live by obedience and example, and thank goodness for all that have been that example to me. Right now I'm serving a mission in the Idaho Pocatello Mission. I have the wonderful opportunity to share the gospel with Heavenly Father's children in this area. I get to see how much Heavenly Father loves His children everyday, in the most incredible ways. The Lord truly loves all of His children and as we put our trust in Him, we can see many miracles happen in our lives. I grew up in a town where people of the LDS faith were few and far between. In a school of four thousand students only five of us where LDS. I learned at a very young age that if I was going to be a Mormon, I had better decide soon. I'm grateful for the experiences I had as a teenager, they have helped me shape my testimony into what it is today. I have come to know just how important the Book of Mormon is and what a precious gift it is to the children of men. I'm so thankful for a father in heaven that knows me and all of His children, He loves us and it is beautiful.
