Hi I'm Jess

Wife. Student. Preschool Teacher. Animal Activist. World Traveler. Photographer Wannabe. Herbivore. Lover of all. Mormon.

About Me

I am a happy, free spirited person. I grew up in southern california blessed with a wonderful family who taught me, and helped me grow into who I am today. I am a current student studying Early Childhood Education, and working as a preschool teacher. I love to travel, and can't wait to continue doing so with my wonderful husband. I love learning about other societies, cultures and religions. I love animals, and have my own precious kitten. I have a strong opinion on the treatment of animals. I believe every living things should be treated fairly and equally. I am shy, but opinionated, happy, and imperfect.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. As we all have to go through, I was converted to the church later in my life. I don't have a miraculous story, but I did find out for myself that the church was true. My parents raised me in the church and I was baptized when I was 8 years old. When the time came I had to choose which way I wanted to go with my life. I knew that the things I had grown up with were good, and brought me a lot of peace and happiness. But the world told me other wise. I decided to commit myself. To pray and to read, and study about the church and to find out for myself if it was true. I was given an answer to my prayers. It wasn't at once that I received that answer, it took time to receive it, but it did come! :) As someone told me once, if something is good and right you won't have any doubts, and I didn't. I felt peace about it. I had no doubts. I knew it was what brought me most happiness in my life, and I wasn't ashamed of that. Now I want to share that with others.

How I live my faith

I can be very shy and I try to live my faith by example. I ask myself daily if I want to be apart of the kingdom of God? And am I living my life in such a way to show how important that is to me? I try to serve those around me, and help others come to know and to enjoy the light and happiness that I am personally blessed with because of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I may not be perfect, and I know I am not expected to be, but I try to be my best self everyday.
