Hi I'm Beth

I'm a mother. I'm a runner. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Texas. I played soccer and tried my best to be outdoors even in the hot summers! I love genuine the friendliness of southerners. I met my husband in college after serving as a missionary in Europe. We moved back to Texas and loved graduate school in Austin. I graduated in geography and worked at the tourism office in Utah before choosing to stay home after my daughter was born. I am now blessed to be mother of three beautiful children ages four, three and one. Our life is hectic and some days I spend more time cleaning up than anything else, but the smiles and snuggles I receive each night as I tuck the into bed make up for all the messes and sleepless nights. I married an accountant who works a lot but family is our first priority. Any chance we get, we are doing something together whether it is bike riding, hiking, dancing or helping others. I feel blessed that after several years of marriage I am still married to my best friend. I like to run. For me, there is something to a good sweat. I like to run races, and also sit on the sideline to cheer on my triathlete husband. I love to achieve my training goals. I love the mountains. And summer. And the smell of babies. And fresh fruit. And grandma's house. And foreign languages. And the miracle of birth. And water skiing. I like a clean house, but mine is rarely so. I would rather have someone to sit and talk with than a spotless kitchen. I long to visit or live in Africa. I

Why I am a Mormon

The message that there us something more than mortal life resonates with me. I love my family. My mom recently survived an extremely difficult battle with lymphoma. Her mortality helped me remember how much I want my family to be together forever. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches me that this is possible. Through the teachings of ancient and modern prophets I have come to know for myself that I am a child (a daughter) of a living Father in Heaven. He knows me personally. And He loves me. Because He loves me, He has given me a Savior, Jesus Christ. I am grateful to have a firm belief that Jesus lives!

How I live my faith

To help our family be strong we read the scriptures together everyday from our iPhones. Each child reads one verse repeating a few words at a time. Sometimes it takes a long time to do something so simple, but the kids notice if we miss a day. I have the chance to be with the young women in our congregation. They are wonderful and have such a zest for life. I enjoy our weekday activities as I get to know them better and try to give them support during their challenges.
