Hi I'm April

Nothing is more important to me than God and my family. I love being a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. -I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mom of 4 that loves to read and write. I work part time at a clothing store helping women find their inner fashionista. I also enjoy dancing, running, hanging with family and friends and shopping. I spend lots of time shuttling kids to activities, assisting with soccer practice and helping with homework. My favorite job is being a Mom, with all its ups and downs!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up in the church with a strong family, I think that I began to realize how important the gospel was to me when I was in college. I had to read and study on my own to gain a testimony of the Savior and his atonement without relying on the knowledge of my parents. I have experienced peace and happiness through my decisions to marry in the temple and raise my family in the LDS church.

How I live my faith

I am currently working with our youth group girls from12-18 years old in the church. I help organize and plan meaningful activities that allow the youth to learn and grow. I also teach regularly on Sundays about Jesus Christ and his teachings. My family loves to have the missionaries over for dinner or to teach our family and my kids look forward to visits from them. I appreciate the example of service that the missionaries set for my kids.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Our bodies are a great gift that we have been given. We believe that we should treat this gift with respect and take the best care of it that we can. Eating healthy and exercising are an important part of taking care of it. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormons are first and foremost Christians. Our whole belief system is founded on the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. Everything we do in the church is to draw closer to the Savior and become more like him in our actions. Show more Show less

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Mormons typically dress in dresses or skirts for women and dress shirts with ties and nice pants for men. Although we would never tell someone they couldn't come to church if they were dressed more casually! We celebrate all the holidays including Christmas, Easter and Halloween. We honor the birth and death of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
