Hi I'm Cody

I served a mission for the LDS church. I am a student. I love making videos. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Cody. I grew up in the LDS Church in Arizona with my parents and 5 siblings. My parents are members of the LDS Church as well. I love to make videos and show them to others. I started getting into that hobby several years ago and enjoying doing that. I did track for a little bit: more specifically long-distance running. I also did a relay race in Utah and a half marathon and it helped me stay physically fit as well as continue to work towards goals. I enjoy listening to music, watching movies, and I even worked at a movie theater for a little while. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and trying to make others laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

Like mentioned earlier, I grew up in this Church since a child. This Church has brought a lot of blessings to my family and helps us stay close together. We still have problems and argue but having the Gospel in my home has helped us to look at the "eternal perspectives" of life. We have the Priesthood of God in my home and that helps us to stay true to our faith. I also know that the Gospel can help us stay out of trouble by allowing us to be around good influences. This helps us stay on the strait path back to our Heavenly Father. I get so much direction and peace by living the way I do.

How I live my faith

I love this Church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the Church, we have opportunities to serve our members as well as to others not of our faith. At the moment, I am a ward missionary. That means that I work with some of the Church's full-time missionaries as well as others in our ward (congregation) to spread the Gospel. It is a great and fun way to serve. I go to a singles ward which is a congregation for young single adults. There is a very spiritual atmosphere there. Also, one Sunday a month, I teach some of the single men in our ward. It is usually a basic lesson on gospel principles (like faith, prayer, etc) but there is always something we can learn from those basic topics. I enjoy helping others and doing my part to help the Gospel move forward.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

We want everyone to know if the things that we talk about are true. We know that each person can know from themselves that they are true and of God. We can know that through prayer. God asks us to pray to Him and He is all-knowing. He has promised us that if we do ask him, in Christ's name, if it is true, then He will let us know through the Holy Ghost (also known as the Holy Spirit or the Comforter). I know that promise is true because I have prayed to know if the Book or Mormon is a true book and if Joseph Smith is a prophet and God answered my prayer and confirmed it to my heart. How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. The Bible takes place on the eastern half of the earth over near Jerusalem and other areas. The Book of Mormon is a record of God's dealings with people & prophets over on the American continent between 600 B.C. and about 400 A.D. They both testify of Christ as our Savior. The only difference is where the people are testifying from. Joseph Smith was called as a prophet and part of his duty was that he was led to some golden plates which is what we now call the Book of Mormon. It was translated through him by the power of God into the English language so we can read about what happened to those ancient American inhabitants. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No we do not. Our church's name is: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We believe in Him and in God. We worship them and we have faith in them. We just believe that They have called prophets in this period of time just like in olden times. We believe that the first prophet called in these times under God's direction was Joseph Smith. He, and other prophets since him, testify that God and Jesus Christ live and they can direct us in our lives. Joseph Smith was a prophet. We worship God, our Heavenly Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
