Hi I'm Colton

I love to have fun! I'm an air traffic controller, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am all about having fun and learning new things. All things practical is my specialty. Sports, games, hobbies. You name them, I'll try them. I love to hammock camp, ride bikes, and shoot firearms. Life is full of things to learn to do!

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the church and was baptized at age eight. I gleaned the truths and blessings from my parents like most young children. Having always wanted to serve a mission, I did all the small and simple things that helped me develop my testimony into what it is today. This church just makes sense. There are too many truths to standby on the sideline. I love it. I've felt what it can bring. I've received the blessings from keeping the commandments. I know it's true; because I've prayed about it. It's complete to me, and now as I look back and share with other faiths, I've seen even more God's hand in this church. By testimony and by evidence, that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love to serve, and being a member of this church allows me to do just that! I have the chance to coordinate interviews for the Bishop of our local congregation. I get to act as a liaison between all of the organizations within our congregation like the youth program, the primary, scouts, and Sunday school teaching organizations. I sing in our choir, and visit homes every month to share a gospel message and help strengthen them. I love it. The satisfaction that comes from serving(and there are many ways to serve in this church!) is so worth it.

What is being a Mormon like?

Colton
It's interesting. Many of us have heard that "what you put into something, you get out of it, too." That holds true for me being a member of the Mormon Church. When you find out for yourself that it's true, then all of a sudden, doors open up, things become clear, and you find yourself in a position to excel greatly in all aspects of your life. Of course, how much dedication you put into it, is the amount of satisfaction and fun you get out of it! It's worth it. Ask me. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Colton
Certainly not! We are commanded to worship only God. There are people who we admire, and respect for great deeds, to which group I include Joseph Smith. Just as many other great people who have influenced people all across the world, Joseph Smith was a key player in God's plan to restoring His church! For that I am grateful. Show more Show less
