Hi I'm David

I'm a systems analyst, web developer, cartoonist, airplane enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I’ve grown up in four different states across the U.S. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve enjoyed drawing. In fact most of my school work featured cartoons, drawings, and doodles in the margins. Unfortunately, I never received extra-credit for my artistic flourishes on my school work. But, at least it passed the time well. When I have a spare moment, coupled with some good humorous inspiration, I create a comic strip that I post on the internet for family, friends and whoever else can find it. I like to think of myself as the undiscovered genius of comic strips. If nothing else, it is fun to lighten the load of some one else through my work and humor. I’ve loved airplanes for as long as I’ve been drawing—which has been decades. I love to be around planes, and you can often find me looking skyward at planes from my backyard, the local airport, or at a seasonal air show. I’m a wannabe pilot with only a couple of hours of actual flight, and one day I’ll get my license. I enjoy watching fighter pilots at air shows screaming through the sky in a beautiful display of machinery, technology, speed, and skill. There has been a number of times that I’ve caught myself day dreaming about flying a bazillion miles per hour with nothing between you and the sky except jet fuel, aluminum, and some pretty cool looking flight gear. Outside of my day job, I make the most of my talents and skills by creating websites for people, businesses, and organizations in my community. I’ve found this line of work challenging, but rewarding. I enjoy learning about who they are, what they do, and what they are offering to those around them, then presenting that information in a creative and functional way on the internet. But, I think what really defines me is my family. I’ve been blessed to be married to a wonderful woman who supports and sustains me through all of life’s challenges. My wife is my biggest fan, strongest supporter, and dearest friend. She has helped me achieve my dreams and encourages me to be the best I can possibly be. We have two children that are our greatest source of joy. Our children are extremely energetic, and have such a wonderful capacity to show love. They have a knack of brightening even the most miserable of days through their smiles and neck hugs. Of all the different roles and positions I’ve held, the best and most rewarding have been Husband and Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate enough to be raised by wonderful parents who taught by their example what it means to be a Mormon. However, their examples and teachings could only take me so far. I reached a point in my life where I needed to know for myself whether the Church and its Teachings were true. I questioned my own beliefs and asked God for answers. He did answer, the moment I asked. Ever since that first answer, I've been following my Savior. As I try to live His teachings, I've found my life and the life of my family greatly blessed. But all the blessings I have, everything that is wholesome and good in my life, is a result of receiving an answer to prayer and then committing myself to act upon that answer.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a primary teacher for the four to five year olds. This has been quite a challenge as their energy levels are so much higher than mine, but it also has been rewarding. I love it when I can ask the children a question about Jesus, His Life, or the Gospel, and then hearing how they really understand key principles that will benefit their lives in years to come. In addition to working with the primary children, I also serve as a cubmaster for our boys that are 8 to 10 years of age. It has been great to help these young boys learn the basics of being a good family member, citizen in the community and a respectful leader of tomorrow. The cub scouts provides these boys great opportunities for the kids to explore their world, interests, and talents.
