Hi I'm Trevor

I'm a mormon missionary.

About Me

I'm kind of an adrenaline junky. I love beating the odds, and doing things that test me. I'm in the Army reserve and I love it. But right now I'm serving a two year mission, teaching people about how they can be truly happy through the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but it wasn't until my Mother passed away when I was fifteen that I really started wondering what was the purpose of life was, and what really happens after we die. Luckily, I already had the answers to those questions, they are found in the Book of Mormon. I started really reading the book for the first time, and when I prayed about what I read, I recieved an answer through the Holy Ghost. I felt at peace. Which I hadn't felt in a long time. I continue to follow Christ's gospel because I know it's the way to true happiness. Even when times are tough, and it feels like we can't make it through the challenges in our path. Jesus Christ will always be there to lift us up.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the best I can to be obedient to the things God's asked us to do. Its the least I can do for him, after all, He's given us SO much. I strive to fufill my callings within the Church. Right now, thats being a hard working missionary.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Family is the core unit in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We value the importance of families so much because we want to live with them forever. And guess what? Because we're all God's children that means we're all family. Our loving God wants us all to return to him and be a part of the biggest family ever! Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is one of the greatest blessing we've been given by our father in heaven. When are baptised, and make a covenant with God to follow Jesus Christ, take upon ourselves his name, and keep his commandments, we are then given the gift of the Holy Ghost. Some of the blessings we recieve from the Holy Ghost are: protection from evil influence(as long as we don't invite it in), guidance, comfort, confirmation of truth, strength to do what is right, just to name a few. Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Its important to take care of our bodies because they are gifts from our Father in heaven. Our bodies are called temples because it's the vessel where the Holy Spirit dwells if we are keeping God's commandments. Show more Show less

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints used to practice polygamy for a number of reasons. The greatest, and first reason is because it was a commandment from God. When God commands us to do something, we need to have the faith to obey him, especially when it's hard. The second reason in my opinion is because, frankly, there was a lot of persecution in the church in those days, and many male members of the church were either killed, or imprisoned and tortured. Polygamy was used to keep all the families that might not have a father/husband safe, and sheltered. So that all families had a place to stay. Show more Show less
