Hi I'm Devon

Im From Arizona and right now I am serving a mission in Idaho. Im a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in Arizona in a small town in the North Eastern side of the state, in the mountains. I love to hang out with friends. We could do anything, play video games, watch movies, go bowling, or just swing on the swings at the park. It didnt matter, just as long as we were having fun. I love the Mountains and love being in them. My family is also very important to me. Although we sometimes dont get along, we still love each other and would do anything for one another. Me and my dad are pretty tight. I actually look at him as a friend. I loved the times that me and him would go hiking in the mountains and loved all the times we went on camp outs. He is my Best Friend. Me and my Dad share a lot of the same interests and both share a love for the Gospel and Jesus Christ. Ive recently gone out on my mission to Idaho. I miss my family and friends, but i know what i am doing is right and that ill see my family and friends again. I have a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon and i know of its truthfulness.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an active Mormon home and never really had a great testimony about the Book of Mormon. When I graduated high school I decided to take a semester of college before I went on my mission. I moved away from home and did my semester of college. Then I moved back home to turn in my mission papers. I never felt a huge desire to go on a mission and couldnt get excited about going. One day I finally got my mission call back and found out when I would be leaving. A few months before I left I found out that I wasnt going to be able to go on a mission and had to wait a year to turn in my mission papers again. I wasnt sure if I was going to go on a mission anymore. I felt like I was going out for the wrong reason. About eight months into the year I had to wait, one night I was driving home from work. I started to think about my life and how happy I was. I concluded that I was not as happy as I could have been if I had actually gone out on my mission when I was supposed to. When I got home I started to read in my Book of Mormon. While reading I was thinking about serving a misson and whether or not I should serve one. I decided to get on my knees and ask God what I should do. After I prayed, i felt like a huge untameable fire had exploded in my chest and I knew from that moment on that I needed to serve a mission and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true Church. I know the Book of Mormon is a true record and that God answers prayers. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, that Joseph Smith is his Revelator and Prophet in these last days, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lords Kingdom once again established on the earth. Also, I know that if any man or woman reads the Book of Mormon and prays, with faith that God will answer them, to know if the book is true, they will know through the power of the Holy Ghost that it is true.

How I live my faith

Well right now, im a missionary. So i live my faith every hour of everyday and am loving every bit of it! Before i came out though i would go to church and any activities our singles ward would put on, sort of. It kind of depended on what my friends were doing. Something that i never missed out on was Family Home Evening. Having Family Home Evening was the best when i grew up and has never changed as i grew older. I also read my Book of Mormon everyday and live as best I can to its teachings. Reading everyday has been a huge help to me both spiritually and physically. I see the blessings that come from reading and what affect it has had in my life.
