Hi I'm Mary

I'm a rancher/farmer, I love reading and serving the Lord and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 23 years old. I grew up in Idaho on a ranch/farm...or a farch as my family calls it. I am the fourth of six children and learned to be hard worker since the time I was 3 years old. I love plants and how they help me feel God's love that is why I decided to study Horticulture at school. I serve my mission in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission and it really was the best 18 months of my life. I love spending time with my family because they really are my best friends!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon. But just like everyone else, I has to make the choice to be a Mormon. I was baptized when I was 8 years old, but I didn't really gain my testimony until I was about 15 years old. When I was 15, I really wanted to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet and if he really saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. So I started reading the Book of Mormon. It took me 2 years to finish but after reading every night, and then praying right after to know if these things are true, I found for myself that they are true. The Holy Ghost told me the Book of Mormon is another testimony of Jesus Christ, and that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God who truely saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy and I get to serve the Lord.

How I live my faith

I try my best each day to be an example to others. I try to do the things that will make Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ happy. I try each day to be kind to others, to be a good listener, to help those around me feel God's love for them.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Everything tells me that there is a God. This last summer in Minnesota, I witnessed a tornado, and then in the winter I was out walking around in a blizzard. These to me show me God's power. God gave us such wonderful gifts like the wind, the stars, the grass, the flowers. There are so many more I want to add but being in nature assures me that God is there and listening to my prayers. Why is family so important to Mormons?

Family is so important to Mormons is because we believe that through Jesus Christ, we can be a family for eternity. The family is central to Heavenly Father's plan and we have the opportunity to learn and grow together. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is a way we live our life by the way we eat. Heavenly Father has asked us not to drink coffee, tea, alcohol, or use tobacco or illegal drugs. These things are harmful to us and can hinder us from feeling God's Spirit. Show more Show less
