Hi I'm Jared Stelter

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, a father to four beautiful girls and a handsome son. I am also a recent MBA graduate of Loyola Marymount University.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught that God in reality is my loving father and He has provided a plan through which I can become like Him. At the center of this plan is my older brother Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ came to earth to show me how to live a life of happiness and fulfillment, by doing those things that my Father in Heaven has directed. During Christ's mortal life he healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, walked on water and even raised the dead. Christ also taught profound doctrines that bring peace to all those who live these same doctrine. While Christ was on the earth He organized the church with 12 apostles, to whom He gave power and authority to direct the affairs of the church and to teach what he taught and to heal and to serve as he had done. At the end of His earthly ministry Christ suffered in a garden of Gethsemane for the sins of all mankind in a way incomprehensible to us all. He was crucified by an anger mob and buried in a borrowed tomb. Three days later, Jesus Christ left his tomb a resurrected being. He was seen by his closest friends and others. As a resurrected being God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to a young 14 year old boy, Joseph Smith. They came in answer to his prayer. He prayed to know which church he should join. God the Father called Joseph by name and introduced His Son. Jesus instructed Joseph that he should not join any of the churches and taught him many things. Through this and other face to face experiences with God the Father and the Risen Lord Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith was called to serve as a prophet. He was commanded to re-establish the same church that Jesus Christ himself had organized during his earthly ministry. The church is known today as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. All of these truths my parents taught to me as a young boy. I needed to find out if they were true for myself. I knew that the only way that I could find out if these things were true was to go to the only source for absolute truth God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by treating others the way the Savior would, with dignity, compassion and love. I also try to visit others and help in any way that I can. Helping may include performing acts of service, such as yard work or small tasks around the house. I also share spiritually uplifting message about the life of Jesus Christ and other spiritually uplifting stories.
