Hi I'm Daniel

I grew up in Indiana in a family of five children. We lived in meager means but had a close family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a happily married father of three with three grandchildren. My hobbies are running, bike riding and gardening. My work keeps me busy but when I am not at work I enjoy being with my wife and family. I especially enjoy time with my wife now that our children are out on their own. When I am not spending time with my wife and family I enjoy spending time with my churh family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I grew up in a religious family and attended church with my brothers and sisters and Mother and Father almost every Sunday. I believe I had a good foundation of faith but when I was out of school and out on my own I always felt like there was something missing in the beliefs I had. I ended up working and living in Texas a long way from my Indiana home. While living there a good friend of mine and I spent a lot of time talking about religion and how we thought we should live our life. During this time we were visited from Mormon missionaries. They asked us if we were willing to learn about the things they were teaching. We agreed. Many questions I had about things that seemed to be missing in my beliefs were answered. One of the things that always troubled me was what happened to people that did not have the opportunity to hear about Jesus Christ. Would they go to Heaven or were they doomed to go to hell. I learned that all people that live or that have lived here on Earth and did not hear about Jesus Christ will have the opportunity through saving ordinances to hear about and accept the Savior in their life. My visit with the missionaries answered most all of my questions and the spirit of the Lord confirmed to me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true. I was baptised and became a member. Since then my faith has grown. I have had many opportunities to see great miracles in my family and with fellow members of The Church that I share my faith with. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that we have a Loving Father In Heaven that knows us individually and answers our prayers. Most of all I know that my life has been greatly blessed by having the gospel of Jesus Christ as a part of my every day life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best person I can be. I am human and I know I make mistakes but being able to have regular prayer with my Father in Heaven and having scriptures that guide me and help me to know the right thing to do helps. I try to be a good neighbor. I also have many opportunities to serve in Church. Currently I serve as the Bishop of our congregation. Being a Bishop keeps me very busy. The youth in our congregation is my most important priority. Along with their parents and help from other leaders in our congregation we teach the youth about Jesus Christ and prepare them to be good faithful and strong fellow citizens in the world. As the ecclisastical leader of our congregation I also get to know all the members in our congregation. My responsibility in the church is to help all to get closer to Jesus Christ and to prepare themselves to be worthy to return to Heaven with their family and Heavenly Father when the time comes. It is a blessing for me to serve others. The Lord helps me to have time to be with my family, to work in my profession, and to serve others.
