Hi I'm Dan

and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm on a mission now in the Idaho Pocatello Mission, where I am blessed to be able to share Gods message with people for two years. Previous to this I lived in England, I listened to music, watched films, spent time with friends, and studied psychology.

Why I am a Mormon

To answer one of the frequently asked questions. . . . . . Yes, I was born a member, both of my parents were converts to the church, and i was fortunate to be born into the family. That is not why I am a Mormon though! Throughout my early years my parents did their job to teach me different principles to help me live the best life possible, but it was in my teenage years that i learnt why it is that "I am a Mormon!" I have been able to learn the power of scriptures and prayer, that we are able to communicate with our Heavenly Father and he communicates back. Through this I soon came to know the path that Heavenly Father needed me to take, by being a Mormon. . . . . . . By being a member of HIS Church

How I live my faith

I live my faith on the day to day, in trying my best to follow the example of Jesus. Whether it's by holding the door open for someone, share a smile, or by visiting those in need, and sharing a message of the gospel with them. I'm a strong believer that the best things that I can do to live my faith is the small seemingly insignificant things done everyday.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We believe that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God, just like Moses, Noah and Abraham. That he was a man called of God at that time to deliver his message to the world. Most importantly though, that he was just a man, just like me, you and billions of others in the world today. We are grateful for his willingness to serve the Lord because through his conserated life to God, we have been blessed with a greater understanding of who God really is, and that we are able to be members of his Church today. Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

If you knew something that was life alteringly important, that only you, and very few other people knew, would you share it? What if the information that you had didn't just affect this life, but also the next life, would you share it then? That is why Mormon missionaries knock on doors, stop you in the street, and never stop trying to meet with you, because they know of the importance of the message, if it's true it will affect everything, (in an amazing way) and they want everyone they come into contact with to experience that joy. Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

To be baptised is something that binds us to God, as it is a covenant/promise that we make directly with him, no one else. Because of this the person that conducts and authorises the baptism here on earth needs to have received permission from God to do so. This permission is not given by a certain amount of schooling, or by the amount of knowledge that the person has it is given by God to people that have been called by him here on earth today.
