Hi I'm Jacob

I'm a Blazer Believer, I'm a late night Provo prowler, Panda Express is my passion, I did golf once, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm originally from Hillsboro, OR, but right now I'm a college lifer at Brigham Young University in Utah. I'm not particularly good at school which is probably why I am still here. I do have a talent. I'm a musician. I played the trumpet in high school. I'm learning guitar. I love to sing! Get in my car and we can crank it! I enjoy the sport of basketball. My favorite team is the Portland Trailblazers. I'm a Blazer Believer! Trust me it has taken a lot of believing over the years. Also I read classic literature if it isn't too hard to read. If it is too hard to read I might just decide to play video games instead. Right now I am a late night custodian, but that is only until I get a better gig working at a manufacturing company. I hope to do something in aerospace. I owe who I am to my family. My older brothers and sister are great examples to me. I hope that I can be a good example to my younger siblings. My parents are patient and loving. I hope to contribute to society the way that they have.

Why I am a Mormon

Nothing compares to the joy that comes from living the gospel. God truly does bless us for keeping His commandments. My family can be together forever if I continue to keep the commitments I have made.

How I live my faith

I keep the Sabbath set apart from all the other days. I read the words of Jesus and try to apply them to my life. A lot of people don't know that mormons believe in modern prophets. I try to listen to their counsel. I pray to God that my life goes well and to thank him for all that I have been given.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Jacob
The reason that Mormon missionaries proselyte is because we have a message that is pertinent to salvation. I would agree that it would be somewhat annoying to have a missionary on your front porch, but we're talking about the salvation of souls here! Every person is a loved child of God. He wants the blessings of happiness and joy in this life, and eternal life in the world to come, for all of His children! A Book of Mormon prophet states that, "this is the way and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God" 2 Nephi 3121. As missionaries we understand that our burdens can be lifted through the Atonement, or sacrifice, of our Savior Jesus Christ. And that is what we offer when we show up on your doorstep.  Show more Show less
