Hi I'm Mike D
Hi my name is Mike. I am 21 years old and currently on a Mission in the Idaho Pocatello Mission IPM. I have been here for along time now. I have been in Idaho Falls, St. Anthony, and now Pocatello. I love sports, especally football and snowboarding. I grew up in TX and went to school and played football in CO before my mission. I love punk rock music, and the Boston Celtics. Out of all these things I love, I love my Heavenly Father and this Gospel even more.
Why I am a Mormon
My family has been in the Church since the beginning. My grandmothers ancestors came across the plains with the pioneers. So I was born and raised in the Church. I have decided to continue with following the Church because life is so much better this way. Growing up in a low LDS populated area I have seen so many situations where I thought "If only they knew, if only they understood that life doesnt have to be this way." The church has given me so much direction and guidence is my life. I know that this is the one and only true Church on the Earth. The only way back to our Father in Heaven is on the straight and narrow path that this Gospel sets forth. I know that God lives, not lived, that he speaks not spake.
Why do Mormons go on missions?
We go on missions to help others to come to know the truth. So that they can experience the same peace and harmony and happiness that we enjoy as members of the church.
How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?
Alma 34:32 Reads. Behold this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God. No scripture has touched me more. It tells me that the reason I am here is to prepare myself to return again to live with our Father in Heaven.
How can your talents and gifts bless others?
I have been blessed with the ability to lead and teach others. I have been given that since I was young. Since the beginning of my mission I have placed into leadership assignments to help the missionaries I get to serve around grow and develope, as well as learning alot for myself. My favorite part about teaching and training is how much I get to learn. I'm not sure why I was given this gift of leadership and teaching but I am thankful for it and I am looking forward to being able to use it through out my life.
How I live my faith
I am a Missionary right now so every thought, every action, every aspect of my life is focused on the Church. I spend all day, every day teaching people about what we believe, and what we know. About how we can have more peace and harmony in our lives, how we can grow Closer to God and how we can return to live with him with our families together forever.
