Hi I'm Timmy

I love people, I love to laugh, I'm an amateur rap artist, a college student, and an athlete, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Timothy, friends call me Timmy G. I was born in Sparks Nevada just outside of Reno, but grew up most of my life in Utah. I am a college student about to graduate with an undergrad in history. I enjoy athletics, swimming is my favorite. I"m an amateur rap artist, and enjoy making people laugh with my clean funny rhymes. You can often find me in Pizza Buffets where I enjoy friendly, but competitive eating competitions. I come from a great family, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and two incredible parents. I'm a sucker for sappy love songs, and of course, I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for one main reason, that is, that the principles taught to me within the Church bring me closer to Jesus Christ than anything else in the world. The teachings of the Church help me to be a good person, as well as allow me change my innermost desires to become more like my savior Jesus Christ. As I follow Christ in my life, I am filled with joy each and every day, and a hope for a better world living with God in the life to come. Having that hope to someday again live with God, helps me deal with all the crazy situations that life throws at me. Recently my mother was diagnosed with Cancer, first with stage 3 Lymphoma, and then again with Colon Cancer. Although it was a blow that I never expected to encounter, my faith in Christ and a sure knowledge of an afterlife, that comes with being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints allowed me to cope with a very serious life experience. The faith I had left me feeling content with life because I knew that no matter what happens I will be with my mother again when we die. This same knowledge and faith I have gives me the strength to live each and every day the way that my Savior Jesus Christ would want me to live. Each of you can gain this same type of faith, that will allow you not only to live a life in line with all of Christ's teachings, but also cope with the difficult challenges of life. The way to gain that faith is to read the Book of Mormon and come to know of it's truthfulness. The reason why we invite people to read it and to pray about it is because it will strengthen the faith you have in Christ, and take it to a point where you can obey all of his commandments. And as you have the faith to put aside your desires and obey the commandments of God it will bring joy to your life, and grant you eternal life in the life to come.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday of the week. I constantly strive to obey god's commands, as well as improve myself in areas where I am lacking. Because of that faith, I have given up two years of my life to serve a mission, and will continue to do whatever the Lord may ask of me throughout my life. True "freedom" comes from knowing that I am willing to follow Christ's commandments without hesitation, and without thought of what people may think of me.
