Hi I'm Lance Sumsion

I'm an actor and a singer. I like it when people laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 7 awesome brothers and sisters. I'm in a mixed family because my parents divorced when I was around 9 years old. I really enjoy being a little bit crazy and slightly odd in some cases. I did theatre and choir throughout high school and really just loved doing that. I've finished a year of college at Utah Valley University. I'm currently serving a mission for this church in Ohio and I've really learned to love meeting new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been raised in an LDS family all of my life and that has been a real blessing in my life even though I might not have treated it like one. One thing I've learned is that you can only live off someone else's testimony or belief of truth for so long. As I grew up I would go to church, mostly because my mom made me do so. When I became a teenager I realized it was a good thing in my life but following the standards of the church was not my favorite thing. I was very influenced by what my friends wanted me to do and generally chose doing what they said over the things I've been taught all my life. Again and again I would make mistakes and Heavenly Father would remind me of what is really important through some trial or affliction or even an example of someone I looked up to and respected. I would then change my ways and go back to what was right. However I always seemed to forget those things eventually. When I started to prepare for a mission I had to make some life changes and since I've been on one the life changes have been even more. I've noticed that as I do what I'm told and obey God's commandments I feel happy and more sure of myself. I can also say that the feelings that come when you truly ask God wanting to follow him are just undeniable. I know that he loves me and truly cares for me in whatever situation I've gotten myself into.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by just doing what I've been told at church and in the scriptures. I try to help strengthen and uplift those at church. When they have been having difficulty attending I go see them and invite them to come back and offer help wherever I can. I love doing service for people. The best thing I've ever done to help people though has been to teach them the things I've learned to be true.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Lance Sumsion
Being a missionary I often try to share my love for the message we share. We teach about God's love for all and how Jesus Christ can clean them of their sins. We also teach about Heavenly Fathers plan for his children on Earth and how we can make our way back to him. Show more Show less
