Hi I'm Trent

I'm a husband, a father, a scientist and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband of 28 years and a father of three children. I love my family and look forward to time with my children. I have always loved math and science. I am a physicist, working with x-ray systems used in industrial imaging applications.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were faithful, practicing Mormons that taught me to love Jesus Christ. They also taught me the importance of gaining my own witness of Christ through study of scripture and sincere prayer. I finally followed their advice as a teenager and sought my own witness of the truth of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I decided to prayerfully read the Book of Mormon. Each day I began a study session with prayer and then opened the Book of Mormon and a notebook. I made notes and kept a list of questions from my reading. As the weeks went by, I felt the spirit more and more clearly as I studied. I was filled with a desire to not only know that the gospel was true, but to live it and share it. I gained a strong witness through the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is God's word meant for us. Now many years later, I feel that same witness of the Spirit each time I read from the Book of Mormon and I continue to feel a strong desire to live by its teachings to the best of my ability.

How I live my faith

Members of our church volunteer their time to serve in many different capacities. Over the years, I have taught young children on Sundays, worked with teenagers on weeknight activities, camped with Boy Scouts on weekends and worked with leaders of organizations for adult members. I was recently invited to work in a leadership position overseeing organizations in several congregations. I love serving in any capacity in our church and find that service very fulfilling. The Savior's life was filled with acts of service. Our family feels the importance of following His example by serving others in our neighborhood and community. I strive to follow the example of Christ by reaching out to and serving others, regardless of their beliefs or how they lead their lives.
