Hi I'm Jeremy

I am a college student studying Latin American Studies. I love riding bikes, cooking, other cultures and sports and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Seattle Washington. I am the oldest of 8 children.I am studying Latin American Studies and Business Management in Utah. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Milwaukee Wisconsin speaking Spanish. Best two years of my life! I can't wait to do it again, when i'm married, with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I have attended church for all of my life, but until the time I was 16 I just attended because that is what my parents and family expected. I just figured that if my parents believed in it than it had to be true. When I was 16 I decided that I wanted to know for myself if this was the true church. I read the Book of Mormon in its entirety and then offered a very sincere prayer to know if these things were true. I did get an answer and from that time forward I have known with all of my heart that this is the true church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I attend my church meetings regularly which really does help to reinforce the beliefs that I share with many others of my same faith. I visit 4 people from the church each month to check on how they are doing and to share a gospel message. I strive each day to say my daily prayers and study the word of God each day. This helps me to stay close to the Lord.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

It is oftentimes believed that the reason Mormons don't talk about the temples often is because there are secret things that go on there. That in fact is not the reason at all. The reason temples and the things that go on inside those walls are not talked about. These things are sacred, not secret. In order show reverence for them, we do not talk about the sacred things that occur. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Mormon missionaries are required to pay for their own missions. Men serve for 2 years and women for 18 months. During this time they focus completely on missionary work and do not have time to work or earn money. Many times before leaving on a mission, they will work in order to make the money necessary to go. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

It is extremely important that if you would like to know the truth of the things you have learned that you pray to God to receive an answer. You cannot merely trust the things that others teach to you. It is very important that you pray for yourself and ask God with a sincere heart to know the truthfulness of the message.
