Hi I'm Erica.

I'm a college student, a shoe salesperson, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 22 year old college student that works at Nordstrom's. I play basketball when I can. I play the piano, flute, piccolo, guitar, and am learning to play the violin. I want to go into business and work my way up in Nordstrom. I have 4 nieces that mean the world to me and I have a huge crazy family, but I love them. I love to do spontaneous things. I love to go to concerts, I love to dance, and I love eating at the newest place in town.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been LDS since I was born. When I turned 8 years old, I was so happy to get baptized. I had always believed the church, but in my late teenage years, I started to make choices that would start my trials of faith. After being inactive for about 3 years, I had a major scare that shook me to the core that made me re-evaluate my life. As I began making a transition to living a gospel centered life, it was tough, but people welcomed me back with open arms, happy for my return. I'm Mormon because I know the church is true. How do I know this? I've read the Book of Mormon and have prayed about the truthfulness of it. I get a feeling that nothing else can bring to me when I read the scriptures, or bear my testimony. I've seen miracles right before my eyes through the priesthood. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and really did see the Father and His Son. I have a testimony of this. I know it's true.

How I live my faith

I live a busy life in between going to school and work. When I can I go to activities that the church puts on. It's a great time for us to socialize and escape from the world that is out there. It's always the best part of my week when I get to go. I also live my faith by letting people know who I am and what I believe. I also where a CTR (Choose The Right) ring. People ask me what it is and it's a good opportunity for me to tell them what it is, without cramming my views down their throat. It's simple and helps others view things a little differently.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Why do Jehovah Witnesses proselyte? Why do Born Again Christians proselyte? It's all the same, we have a great joy that we have found in our gospel that we want to share with the world. For example, you read a great new book. Wouldn't you want to tell someone about it? Don't you want to say, "Hey, I read this amazing book, you should read it sometime." You wouldn't keep it to yourself. So as missionaries, they proselyte to people to tell them about this great happiness that they have found in their lives, through this gospel. Show more Show less
