Hi I'm Glenn

I'm a Mormon and have been for 32 yrs. I grew up in Florida, spent eight years in the Navy and we settled in S.C.

About Me

I have been a member of the church since Nov, 1979. My wife and I have been married for nearly 40 years and are happier now than we have ever been. We were high school sweethearts and have been dating for 42 years. We have six children and seven grandchildren with our eigth due soon. I love to spend time with my family. I also love to hunt, fish, work outside, watch good movies, read good books and be with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because the gospel is true and this is the only church that teaches all of the truth. I first heard about the church while serving aboard a submarine. Some friends of mine were members of the church and started 'teaching' me the gospel. One of those guys was asked one day why he was a member of the church. His answer impressed and intrigued me. He said it is the only religion that makes sense. Another man in particular was a good friend and asked me one day if I wanted to read the Book of Mormon. I said no but that did not stop our conversations. We would talk about religion and he would tell me things about the church and I would go and read my scriptures and pray about it. I did not understand what I was being told but I would go home after patrol and talk to my wife about it. A couple of years later I left the Navy and started working at a nuclear power plant and met another member of the church who continued my education. After another year or so of learning I finally accepted what the spirit had been telling me all along - this is the only true and living church on the earth. For me, there are several items that were very important. One of the biggest was and is the question of authority. What organization on earth has the authority to act in God's name? To me there is only one and that is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love the gospel and the church.

How I live my faith

I am very active in the church. I strive hard to live the gospel to the best of my ability. Nearly all of my callings (responsibilities) in the church have been associated with the youth programs. They are wonderful and are the future of the church. I love teaching them, learning from them and spending time with them. My testimony of the gospel is strong and gets stronger all the time. I love being a member of the church and living the gospel. It has made all the difference in my life.
