Hi I'm Marc

I'm an accounting student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a single parent living in NE Harris County. I recently moved here from Utah to be closer to my two young boys. It is quite different living down here where you don't see snow in the winter and I can't look around for some mountains to orient myself as to which direction I am facing. I am currently studying accounting and hope to have my degree in a year. I enjoy golf, board games, professional football and basketball, and working out at the gym.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons. I am very thankful for the support that has been offered to me by fellow ward members and the church in general. Moving down here and adjusting to life would have been much more difficult and stressful without the love and fellowship offered by other members of the church. I may not always understand all the trials that I, along with everyone, go through on a daily basis, but I know that I always get support and friendship here. One of other things that I think is so important is that I know that families can be together forever. I love my two boys and I want to try to be there for them now and always. They are the biggest reason why I moved here. Through modern day revelation given to prophets, we can sealed together forever. That gives me comfort knowing that truth. The connections of marriage and family don't have to end at death, but can continue beyond this life. Many other revelations such as this have been revealed to us through a living prophet. God loves us and uses his prophets, just like in the scriptures, to counsel us.

How I live my faith

I enjoy visiting other members on a regular basis. It helps me to build up friendships and gives me the opportunity to serve others. It is one of my duties to visit other families and share uplifting messages as well as ask if they need any assistance from the church or even from me. Sometimes others need help but are reluctant to ask for it. I am blessed because it gives me the opportunity to build friendships and serve others. Service is great, especially when you leave with a good feeling in your heart.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom emphasizes that we should treat our bodies with care and to avoid things that we can become physically addicted to or that could cause us to not be in control of our bodies. It also encourages us to be physically active and to do our best to get enough sleep. I can tell you that I am rarely sick and usually when I do get sick, it is because I have not allowed myself to get enough sleep or have not been taking care of myself. I know that I have been blessed as a result of this. Show more Show less
