Hi I'm Shari Jane

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, a Sunday School teacher and the IT Service Catalog Manager for one of the world's largest merchant processing providers. I get to cheer on some of the most amazing high school age female athletes you could ever hope to know most weekends at High School or Club Volleyball games! I went to church as a young girl, my parents dropped me off at the curb for Sunday School, and I would call them and let them know if I was staying for the service. Always my choice, and my agency. And like my favorite children's song from church says: I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I know who I am, I know God's plan, I'll follow him in faith." And I am a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

Agency! A a powerful and meaningful word I learned from a couple of missionaries, who also taught me about the Plan of Happiness, and who knew more about the Bible, my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ at 19 then I did as a 33 year old mother. I had been church hoping since I moved from a small town to a metro area. Some churches I attended had pews, some folding chairs, some had rock bands, some had flags, sheep horns and others had donuts. I've been to them all. None of them pricked my heart like the testimonies and examples from the people I met who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. No missionaries ever knocked on my door, and I didn't even know what a Mormon was until I met my first about ten years ago. Amazing, Christ centered, family focused examples. Becoming a member of this church has been a personal journey for me and my family, and I am thankful and happy to say through agency and choice we are all baptized and sealed for eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be better every day then I was the day before, in living the Latter Day Saint lifestyle, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I teach Sunday School, Senior Primary, ages 10 & 11. I take it as a personal challenge to make it meaningful to them and their lives, every week. Some of my friends are off trying to find themselves, and I sometimes think maybe I am missing out on skydiving, snow skiing, and marathon running, but then I remember I have a greater calling, serving others. I served myself for many, many years, and it only left me searching for happiness.
