Hi I'm Brenda.

I came from the Philippines. I'm a Canadian, a wife and mother, a Canadian Forces member and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Malbago, a little fishing village in the Philippines to a humble family. The oldest of eight children of a fisherman father and a housekeeper mother. They taught us the value of hard work. I had spiritual experienced when I was young leading me to find out the truth regarding life here on earth after the death of my two brothers. Meditation was one of my past time. My questions were the following: Why I am here? Where do I come from? What is my purpose here? Where would I go after this life? I said to myself, if someone can answer these questions truthfully would be the smartest person in the world. Then one day, I met the missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I was given a copy of The Book of Mormon, and I read the book and prayed about it. I had a beautiful feeling all over my body, and I know that The Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I joined the church in 1993, and I have been blessed. I have experienced so many trials in my life, but as I live the teachings of my Savior, Jesus Christ; I have been given strength to overcome them. My faith grows stronger as I study and ponder the scriptures. I am married to a Canadian and have been in Canada for 17 years, went to College and joined the Canadian Forces. We have a wonderful son. I am currently serving in the Canadian Forces for 10 years now and have been to places like Japan, Korea, China, Guam, Hawaii, Alaska, USA and Mexico.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know with all my heart that it is true. I studied The Book of Mormon and prayed hard to know of its truthfulness. I had a feeling of peace and received answer to my questions. I came to know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that Jesus Christ lives, and that His Gospel has been restored to earth in its fulness. I know that I am a child of God and that He lives. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed my life. Blessings do come after so many trials. I'm thankful for my experience here on earth. And I know that if we keep God's commandments, we will be blessed.

How I live my faith

I share my testimony to family and friends. I've served different callings at church as a teacher, a cub scout leader and a chorister. I try to live each day in accordance with the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the very best I can.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Brenda.
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of the Father in the flesh. He is our Eldest brother, the Firstborn of the Father. Under the direction of God, our Heavenly Father, Jesus created heaven and earth. He was Jehovah in the Old Testament. He is Alpha and Omega, the first and the last. Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer. He is the Messiah, the King of kings and Lord of lords. Jesus died and suffered for our sins. Because of Him, all mankind will be resurrected. Jesus is our only hope to gain eternal life. He is the Light of the world. Jesus is my Lord, my King, my Savior and Redeemer, and my Exemplar. I love Him with all my heart, mind, might and strength. Show more Show less
