Hi I'm Jake

I'm a Mormon. And Proud of it.

About Me

I'm currently serving a mission for the church in the Nevada Las Vegas WEST mission, and I love every minute of it! Best mission in the world. I plan on attending school after I return home to study Aviation Science. I the plan on entering the Airforce with the intent to be a pilot. I love music! I play guitar and percussion, and can sing somewhat too.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church. As is probably common in a lot of youth, I started questioning my upbringing and whether or not what I had been taught as a child was actually how it was, or whether my parents were just off their rockers. Which led me to investigate what it was I believed. I then read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover and prayed about it. The answer I received was something that's pretty hard to explain, but what I do know is that it was real, and it was from God. I also started asking questions of those around me at school, and what they believed, but what they said about God and Jesus Christ never made sense to me. I couldn't accept that the God I loved and I knew loved me was some senseless mass that floated around without any real identity or physical being. Which brought me back to Joseph Smith's first vision and how when he saw God the Father, and Jesus Christ, he saw them as 2 glorified personages. I realized that Joseph was describing the God that I always knew and loved, but right then is when I knew it for myself, and from that day on I have tried my best to follow Christ's teachings.

How I live my faith

Currently I live my faith by serving our Savior Jesus Christ full time. I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have the privilege of Representing Jesus Christ and having my voice heard by His children. The Lord has blessed me immensely in my efforts and I have seen the Gospel of Jesus Christ change people's lives. We as missionaries do not get paid for what we do. Instead we consecrate our time and talents to surving the Lord for 2 years. It is a sacrifice yes, but I would not change what I have learned, or the person I have become as a missionary for anything else in the world.
