Hi I'm Lisa

I am the mother of five wonderful children. I was born in Hawaii and now live in South Carolina. I love thrift store shopping.

About Me

My name is Lisa and I love thrift store shopping, hair cutting, and cake decorating. Its great fun to get a compliment on an outfit and know I've spent a dollar for each item I'm wearing from the earrings down to the boots. I love taking people thrift store shopping and watching them learn how much they can save. Hair cutting and cake decorating are my creative outlets I enjoy when I can fit them into my busy schedule as a wife, mom of five, ophthalmic technician and teacher for a scripture class to high school students in the early mornings before school.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because its the only thing that helps me survive all the trials and confusion in this world. Life has its challenges and I've had mine. I would be lost if I did not have a personal relationship with Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the foundation of everything I am. I know I am a daughter God and that He knows who I am, what I am going through, and what is in my future. He knows how I feel, what I am thinking about, what I'm worried about and what my desires are in life. He answers my prayers. Knowing Jesus truly is my personal Savior and that repentance and forgiveness are active in my life makes it possible to be happy in any circumstance.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in everything I do. My first and greatest calling is in my family. It is important to me to consistently teach my children the gospel on a daily basis. I have always participated in church choirs since a young teenager and now am a choir director. I love how music invites the Spirit and expresses my testimony better than I can with words alone. I try to share the gospel with people because I know the happiness and sense of purpose it brings to my life and want everyone to have the same. I've worked with many of the children and youth groups at church to strengthen them against the bad things in the world today. One message I try to impress on them is that Heavenly Father will always be there for them and they can access his love and counsel through prayer no matter where they are, what they are doing, or who they are with. I know everyone will experience difficulties, sometimes when least expected. Whatever I am doing with people, whether its giving them a new hair style, helping them thrift store shop, or encouraging them to sing, I hope to help them grow in their understanding of how much they are worth as a person and as a child of God.
