Hi I'm Daniel

I like music. I can solve a 5x5 Rubiks Cube. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in Salt Lake City. I'm a thinker, so I enjoy anything to do with strategy. Chess, checkers, you name it. One of my favorite games is Settlers of Catan. I also love music, I've been playing the piano for my whole life. I'm starting to get into sports, I enjoy playing basketball and soccer. If I get interested in something, I can do anything I set my mind to.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church. In my senior year of high school I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, or high-functioning autism. This means that throughout my school experience I had trouble performing socially, but not enough that it was identifiable I was just the quiet awkward kid. But then when I was diagnosed, and started working to overcome this, I started thinking a lot about my life. Who I was, how I got to be where I was, and where I wanted my life to go. I wasn't satisfied with where I was, and wanted to know how to become a better person. That was when I realized that the questions I had about life was answered in the Gospel- the things that we believe. I was able to answer questions that I had, and with that my faith has grown. Knowing how the Atonement of Jesus Christ works in relationship with the Aspergers I have has helped me to understand the teachings of Christ in a very personal way. As my own understanding of the Gospel is increases, my attitude towards life is improving and I am more able to combat the challenges of life.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving as a missionary, sharing the Gospel to others who have not had the oppertunity to hear about it. As I go throughout each day I can check myself against God's commandments, to see how I stand. Knowing who I am and where I want to go changes my perspective on life, and helps me to make good decisions that strengthens myself and those around me. Having Gospel standards helps me to continually push myself to be the best I can be.
