Hi I'm Jared Lowell Wilson

As a father of six, my role is Mentor. My passion is people. I'm a student, friend, father, companion, and disciple of Christ.

About Me

I have five boys and one girl. I've been married for 14 years. I'm a graduate student and mentor and am continually working to create balance in my life. My wife and I learned early in our marriage that a big family, for us, was key to a happy and healthy marriage. Of course, not without the common pains of active, growing children. I find that recreational activities help add to the balance I mentioned before. Running is something that enjoy doing together as a family. When it comes to work, it should be more than just a job, find that thing (or things) that help you find happiness. People and relationships are important to me. I believe you can find the positive in everything, even when it seems hidden.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I choose to be. There are two aspects to being a Mormon...the culture and the belief. You'll find the culture to be very family oriented b/c of the belief we have that families are forever, if you want them to be. I was raised a Mormon, but my choice to believe has come from many hours spent in prayer and searching. I know what I believe to be true, Christ does live. He gave the ultimate sacrafice, his life. And, because he did, we are all blessed to have the gift of immortality - through the resurrection. I know this is true because I have asked God. It is through the feelings that I feel when I pray and learn more about this, and the thoughts that I have that I know what I know is of God. Then, I can bless my children's life with this knowledge of His teachings...so that one day they can know, for themselves, that these things are true.

How I live my faith

When I was 19 years old, I went on a mission for my church. I spent two of the most educational, spiritual, and service filled years of my life in Argentina. I met some incredible people and saw some incredible things. Since then, I've stayed very active in the many wards I have lived in. In the 14 years I've been married, we've lived in 13 different wards. I've enjoyed serving the members of my ward family through visits, moves, and now as a councilor and mentor to our stake family. I give of my time because God once said, when you serve others, you are serving me. My wife and I co-mentor our family through the twists and turns of life and work very hard to instill in our children (1) a belief in Jesus Christ, (2) that prayer is real, and (3) that Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are in the details of our life. Our children know that we talk to God through prayer and he talks to us through the scriptures and living words of modern-day prophets.
