Hi I'm Eric H.

I'm a FreeRunner and Parkour enthusiast and i'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, I’m Eric, I'm a college student, an Artist, and an Athlete. I enjoy the outdoors very much and spend much of my time hiking and running. I love to paint and draw landscapes. I get much of my inspiration from being outdoors. Every day I see the beautiful blessings our creator has provided for me in my life. I want to capture and use these things to show others how awesome they are too. I think this may be one reason why I am so interested in Parkour (par•kour). My life is centered around the discipline know as *Parkour and **Free Running. I spend a lot of my time with my friends doing this sport and working toward becoming better at it. It’s a discipline of the body, based around bettering oneself physically, mentally, and also, I believe, spiritually. I really love Parkour, for the fitness aspect of it and also the ability to create movement in your environment. *Parkour is a discipline of the body where someone use ones body to move from Point A in an environment to Point B by Running, Climbing, Jumping , or Crawling. **Free Running is the same but incorporates more esthetic movements such as flips to get through an environment.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon with my parents and siblings. I was baptized and confirmed a member when I was 8 years old. There was a time in my life however when I had to depend on my own knowledge of God and not on my parents knowledge. I had to choose for myself if the Scriptures were true, and if the things I grew up learning were right. The scriptures say to go to Heavenly Father; to knock and ask, if we do this with a willing heart we will receive truth through the power of the Holy Ghost. I prayed and asked Heavenly Father to let me know if what I wanted to know was true. The answer I received was that the scriptures are true, that we do have a Savior who loves us and wants us to come unto him. I feel it in my heart, that same gospel, reveled to us in the New Testament, has been restored to the earth by a Prophet today. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ’s true Church, It has been restored to the earth by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I found out for myself by going to God through prayer for the answers. An assurance of Gods great blessings comes through my daily activities. In all that I do. Whether its through weekly church attendance, School, Nature, Art, or Parkour, God has his hand in all that I do. I am thankful he has given me the gift to be here on earth with a loving family and fortunate home. I am grateful for a healthy working body, and that I get to live in this world.

How I live my faith

With all that I have I don’t forget that God wants me to use wisely the things he provides. This life is my time to prepare to meet God. When I’m in church, learning at school, practicing Parkour, or any activity in my life, I try to progress, and be better. Progression is a fundamental part of the gospel and I try to live it all the time. I feel obligated to thank God for the blessing of creation. Most specifically that I have a body capable of withstanding the pressures and strains of the physical requirements in what i do; but also the mental, spiritual, social, and emotional stresses of life. Parkour helps me become a better person. Parkour is all about working with something simple and practicing to become better. Progression by practice and exercise allows me to become stronger and more capable. I didn’t learn how to do Parkour overnight, it took practice and patience to build up to what I can do now. Currently I am serving as a full time missionary for my church. I am in the Mississippi/Louisiana area serving for 2 years. Its been a great experience so far. I get to share what I believe to others and show them the truth that is on the earth once again.
