Hi I'm Justin Stander

I'm a writer, I'm a gamer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like playing games, watching anime, and hanging out with my friends. I also love reading and writing. Someday I hope to publish some of my own works. I like movies too. Seriously, I'm like a movie junkie. My family is probably the most important thing to me. Ultimately I just want to be happy. Genuinely happy. I want to be able to look forward to each day with a smile on my face.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I had a turning point in my life where I had to make my own choices- I would be living out on my own without mom and dad and I realized I didn't have any genuine belief about God. I hadn't developed that personal relationship for myself. I went to church because... well, that's what we do on Sunday. But as my personal responsibility grew- I knew I needed to find out for myself if God was there. I knelt down and prayed about the Book of Mormon, and the church, and asked if all of this was true. God answered my prayer. He touched me with the overwhelming peace of the Holy Ghost, and I knew it was true, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church on the face of the earth. The Gospel has been restored, the Holy Ghost has witnessed that to me again and again- and this church is the only way anyone can return and live with God again. - That is why I'm a Mormon

How I live my faith

I strive to do the right thing, and be the best example I can be. I feel a responsibility for my own actions, and I try to do good and help those around me. I love God, and and try every day to be better than I was the day before. I know I make mistakes, but I do my best to repent and obey the commandments.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Justin Stander
Mormons get a bad rap cause everybody is like, "Its not by works! Only by grace! You mormons think you can work your way to heaven!" Not true- We know that the grace of Jesus Christ is the ONLY way anyone will be saved. (John 14:6) But we also know, that God requires certain things of us to enter into the kingdom of heaven. Baptism is one yes, but he also asks us to be perfect. (John 3:3, Matt. 5:48) Grace is the power that enables us to DO the things he has asked us to do. His grace means nothing unless we choose to use it. (James 2:17-20) Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Justin Stander
The only thing that the Church does endorse is Truth. We embrace all truth, because truth is from God. It is the responsibility of every member of our church, and for that matter, the responsibility of every living soul on the planet to find the truth. To find Gods will for them. So while the Church has never, nor will ever support a specific candidate, or party, it does support the voters. To learn about these parties and candidates, and to vote using their best judgement. To seek after truth. The Church will however, on rare occasion speak out against something that is in direct opposition with the truth, or Gods law. Such as gay marriage, or abortion.
