Hi I'm Adam

I'm a gamer. I'm writing a fantasy novel. I'm a missionary in Southern California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the Legend of Zelda series, I've played every Mario game on the planet, and strategy games are my forte! I'm part-way through college to become a softward developer so that I can someday be the creator of the videogames I love to play. I've taken out two years to serve a full time mission in Southern California, and I'm loving every minute of it. When I get back I'm also going to keep working on a fantasy novel I'm writing. If you love epic battles, swords and bows, and magically powered antagonists, I'm going to be your best friend! My dream-job would be to be the writer for the next Legend of Zelda game.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but I never had a desire to serve a mission. As the age of serving a mission started slipping by, I had to find out if I believed this church or not. Thanks to the prayers of several women in my life (not the least of which was my mom), I was able to keep strong and worthy to serve a mission when I finally got my answer. I know that those who truly pray and really intend to follow the answer they get will know this church is true. I prayed, and I knew it was true. I didn't even go straight home but went to my bishop (local leader) first to ask what I needed to do to go serve the Lord for two years. Now I'm serving as a missionary in Southern California, and meeting people that challenge and try my faith every day has only strengthened my conviction that this church is true.

How I live my faith

I am serving as a full-time missionary in California. I work hard all day everyday to invite others to come unto Christ. I tell everyone I meet to come and see if this is the true church of Christ on the earth. I study the Bible and Book of Mormon everyday to keep learning more about our Savior, Jesus Christ, and how to follow Him. The lessons I learn there help me to be able to better help people as a disciple of the Lord. I grow in Love of God and my fellow man by applying that learning and lifting and serving others all day every day!

In whom should we have faith?

We should have faith in Jesus Christ. He came to earth as the Son of God to prepare a way for us to return and live with our Father in Heaven. Jesus Christ is central to our beliefs. The name of the church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" for a very specific reason. It is only through Christ that we can be saved, so we must have faith in Him. I know that Jesus Christ has changed my life through my faith in Him and through the actions I've taken in faith to follow Him. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Speak up! Silence is submission. To stop the spread of pornography, we have to make sure we're speaking up against it. This should start in the home. Parents need to teach their children about the evils and danger of pornography. Then we need to speak up and let those in charge of making laws about it know that we care and we don't want it to keep spreading. Some people call it "art" and say it needs to be available everywhere, but speak up and add your voice to those who want "art" to stay in private studios and not out in the public where tender minds could see it and be tainted for their whole lives. Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. I worship God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Prophets (Joseph Smith, Moses, Samuel, Nephi, Thomas S. Monson, etc.) just teach us about God and how to follow Him. You don't worship your parents because they teach you about God. You worship God because they taught you about God. I don't worship prophets because they teach me about God. I worship God because they taught me about God. Show more Show less

How does the Church finance its operations?

The church of God has always been funded by donations of the members of the church. Jesus told a rich man to sell all that he had and give to the poor. It's this selfless sacrifice that funds the operations of the church. I have been blessed throughout my life as I've paid tithing (which is 10% of my income) to the church. I believe that it is because I have paid tithing faithfully that I've been able to do well enough in school to be able to go to college and afford tuition and other expenses. Not only has the Lord blessed me with better money-management skills but also with "coincidences" that facilitated jobs, room and board, scholarships, and other financials blessings. Fast offerings are another way the church funds operations for the poor. As I monthly take the opportunity to fast (go without food and water for 24 hours) and get in tune with the Spirit of God, I gain spiritual blessings and peace of mind. The money I would have spent on food for those meals that I skip, I donate to the church and can feel at ease knowing that people who aren't blessed with as much abundance as me will be getting that money to help them buy food and other necessities. It's the gift that keeps on giving. Show more Show less
