Hi I'm Gordon

I love my country, play Highland Games I am an EMT I am a Christian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am just a thrill seeker and adrenaline junkie. See I'm an EMT who has never really been in an ambulance, but I've seen my share of injuries and what not. I love it! Yes I'm very aware of the fact that I am weird. But I love the thrill of helping when the situation seems chaotic and out of control. I have found that I have a clear mind during those moments. The best outlet I've ever had is in fighting (mixed Martial Arts), and the Highland Games. For those of you who don't know what that is, I basically throw weights around and such! I throw Cabers, which are pine logs that are up to 25 ft tall as far as i know, and weigh roughly 180 plus pounds. It's way fun! I'm just a crazy!!! I sing, act, build stuff, game, play all sorts of sports, reading, and love the outdoors. Especially fishing, that's just stellar! I love my country!! I'm a patriot of freedom. I look forward to going to college and becoming either a Physicians Assistant, a doctor, or something medically related. I am currently serving on a 2 year mission for my church! It's the BEST and I thank my Father in Heaven for everyday of life I have! Church has been the greatest experience ever! I LOVE IT!!! I like to learn not only the church things, but all the other things life has to offer, even the old things, like Blacksmithing! It's fun, i'm old fashioned and yet very futuristic and modern. Like i said, I'm a million mile an hour crazy person who just loves life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it's True. As a member of the Mormon Church I knew I couldn't just say I was a Mormon and be happy. I really wanted to know if it was the true church, if it was the right church, the church that God would want me to join. I found out. I had to take the Book of Mormon, and read it. I wanted to know if God had indeed brought a prophet on the Earth as in days of old, to lead his church. To do this I needed to do as it says in The Epistle Of James 1:5 "If any of ye lack wisdom let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him." I simply prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true, and If Joseph Smith had been called as God's prophet to restore his church on the earth. If this was indeed true, then I knew where I stood. I got my answer. Which was obviously yes, the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith is a Prophet who brought about the restored church of Jesus Christ. I say this simply, if man would only ask, and be receptive, open and free from all judgements and just listen, then they will receive there own answers. It is the only way one can know, is by receiving that confirmation for yourself. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

You know, I find the best way to live my faith is to use it in everday life. I find that through service I am better oriented to help people. That through following the instructions of my church leaders and the prophets of old I am better prepared. I do my best and that is it. I do not judge, I love the diversity of the world. I love the differences, and do my best to respect other people and there beliefs, for i believe all people have the right to believe as they feel is right.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Gordon
Family is one of the Centerpieces to God's plan of happiness for us. God put us into families so we could be supported and loved through this life. We believe that a family can be sealed together for eternity. WHAT JOY!!!! The family is vital to our growth and our relationship with Heavenly Father. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Gordon
I can without fear tell you yes we are Christian. The actual name of our church is not "The MORMON CHURCH" The actual name is simply this "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" The name Jesus Christ is used signifying that we believe in Jesus Christ, That we believe he is the Savior and Redeemer of mankind and of the World. Mormons are undoubtedly Christian, He is the Foundation upon which our beliefs are built. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Gordon
The evidences that there is a God are Abundant and without number. The very Earth Speaks of God, For he created all things which in them are, God has made it even more apparent that he is there by the birth of children. Who can not look into the face of a new born and deny the existence of God? That new borns face is bright with the light of Heaven and speaks of the God who sent him/her down to bless our lives. I ask you now How can you deny the existence of God who so abundantly supplies for us and who makes his love for us known in all things, God lives and loves us. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Gordon
Yes we most certainly do regard the Bible As holy scripture. It testifies of Christ and has doctrines That we need to know. It was written by Men who were moved upon by the holy spirit and they are prophets called of God. It goes hand in hand with the Book of Mormon which is Another Testament of Christ which contains the fullness of the gospel as does the Bible. Both were written by men who were called of God and had the Holy Ghostanother name for Holy Spirit move upon them to write the sacred scripture that we have now. How wondrous a work!! What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Gordon
The Atonement of Jesus Christ to me is something very powerful. Christ went into the Garden of Gethsemane and prayed taking upon himself all of our sins and infirmities, indeed suffering afflictions of many kinds. Here he took upon him everything that hurts, all the trials, the pain, sicknesses and depression that come in life at times. He did so so that we might be able to Repent and come clean from our sins. He did so to have a perfect understanding of how to help us when we come to him and repent. He suffered pain so intense that we cannot imagine it, but he did so so that he could give succor to us and to heal us as individuals in the best way possible. He is not only the master teacher but the Master Physician. Show more Show less
