Hi I'm Larry

Hi, My name is Larry. I grew up in Walnut Creek, California. I'm a CPA, part-time coach. and a Mormon.

About Me

We enjoy the schools, athletic teams, music, and tae-kwon-do classes our little community has to offer. We especially enjoy the good service the churches provide in our community. The church I belong to, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is very active in the community, provides community service, has great youth activities and a great scout program. These programs keep our children focused on good things and pointed in positive directions. We have also became a foster family to a pair of baby sisters.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon and attend this church and its activities regularly, because, it not only blesses the lives of my family and gives us opportunities to serve others, but, because it is Jesus Christ's church. It is not run by man's authority, but by Jesus Christ and His authority. It is the only church authorized to use the Lord's priesthood authority to perform ordinances that bless our lives eternally. After studying and researching this authority, it became logical to my mind that this was true. However, I came to know this after I fasted and prayed to Heavenly Father and asked that he communicate to me that it is true. He answered me through the Holy Ghost who testified to my spirit that this is Jesus Christ's eternal church.

How I live my faith

Because I have been given so much from my Father in Heaven, I, in turn, try to make myself available to give service to others. Service, not only makes me feel good and makes the world a bit better, but, allows me to feel that I am doing what the Lord would do and what he wants me to do. I've had numerous responsibilities in the Church that have all have eternally blessed my life.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

I get closer to my Heavenly Father by reading the Book of Mormon and following its precepts, than by reading any other book. Ask me about the Book of Mormon, and about a prophet named Mormon. Ask me about Jesus Christ's church. Ask me about temples. Ask me about eternal marriage. Ask me about the blessings of, and the eternal importance of, families. Ask me about money and seeking for riches. Ask me about a happiness that lasts, even after the credit card bills come. I have found great insights and answers to the questions above when reading the Book of Mormon. These insights, when followed, have helped me find real lasting peace, and an eternal reason for the hope that is within me. Show more Show less
