Hi I'm Abby

I'm a mother to two children. I love to cook, be outside, read, play sports and play with my kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Idaho, with a large family. Like 11 kids large. After high school I attended BYU-Idaho and met my wonderful husband. He took me away from my family and brought me to Texas. There, I'm raising two sweet children, who mean everything to me. It is a tough job, but I wouldn't want anyone else to do it. In the spare time that I have(which is little), I like to cook and try new recipes, read, run, sew & be crafty, play basketball and volleyball, play the piano, spend time with friends, and go on dates with my husband!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe that this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church on earth, and was restored by the prophet Joseph Smith. I have recognized the blessings I receive when I follow the commandments and standards that have been set by this church. I have a clear knowledge of what my purpose is here on earth, what I need to do, and how to do it. Our Heavenly Father loves each of us and is there for us always. We just need to come unto Him and He will give us peace and comfort. I was born into this church, so my parents showed me by example how wonderful this gospel is. They have always had strong testimonies of the gospel and lived according to its teachings. I leaned on their testimony until I was able to gain my own, and I have no doubt that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. He lives and loves us. Everyone has hard times in their life, and to be able to pray and receive strength to overcome each challenge, knowing that you can do it, is a great comfort. We are not left alone in this world. We have our family, friends, neighbors, each other, and most importantly Our Savior.

How I live my faith

I had the responsibility of serving the Young Women in our church. I taught lessons to them each Sunday, attended activities weekly to strengthen and uplift them, and was a friend to them when they needed someone. Another assignment I have had multiple times is playing the organ in our Sacrament meeting. That was an intimidating calling at first, but I have become more comfortable with it as I've practiced and gotten a little better each week. I had no idea how to play organ. They just assumed I could figure it out since I play the piano. It's great to develop a new talent. I have also been in charge of planning, organizing and conducting activities for the women of the church. That was a lot of work, but I enjoyed creating events where the women came and learned new things and were uplifted and strengthened by each other. I currently teach the women of our church once a month. It is a new calling, but I am excited to learn and grow in this assignment.
