Hi I'm Nate

I'm serving a mission. I speak Mongolian. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in North Virginia. Some things about me are that I speak Mongolian and love all things Mongolian, I enjoy psychology, and, most importantly, I love serving the Lord and sharing the Restored Gospel with God's children! You might be wondering how I know Mongolian. (It's not the most common language after all =D). I was originally called to serve a mission in Mongolia. So I went to the Missionary Training Center and learned Mongolian for three months. Then, two weeks before I left, I found out I wasn't able to get a visa and would be permanently reassigned to the Washington D.C. South mission! The greatest mission in the world! =D I am so happy that God has a plan for me and that He knew to reassign me here. I have met TONS of Mongolian people and feel blessed to be able to experience their great culture! I know my reassignment was from God and I can't wait to go to Mongolia after my mission. =)

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church. But that's not why I am a Mormon. My parents are all members and pretty much my whole family is. But that's not why I am a Mormon. I had great leaders in my church and great examples of living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But that's not why I am a Mormon. With all those reasons why I'm not I bet you are wondering why I AM. Well, while I DID grow up in the Church I would not say I have always been a Mormon. I was always taught the principles and standards but I didn't always know if they were true or not. There came a point in my life where I decide that I needed to know if this was true or not. A time to put my parents words to the test. I had to do what I had been taught all my life--that is, pray and ask God if these things are true. In John 7:17 it says "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." So, decided to do exactly that. I began reading the Book of Mormon and living the standards of the Church to see if they were of God or of men. I tried an experiment upon the word (Alma 32:27). After much study and diligent prayer I gained a strong belief that these things are true. But it wasn't until I decide to go on a mission and bring these truths to others that God took my belief and gave me a knowledge. Now, I can say that I know that these things are true. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His Church. And you can know too. You just have to experiment upon the word, study it out, and pray about it and if you have a sincere desire to know, real intention to act upon your answer, and faith in Jesus Christ then "it shall be given you." (James 1:5) And that IS why I am a Mormon. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving the Lord as a missionary and trying to be the best servant of God that I can be! =)
