Hi I'm Chris

I love to live and experience life. The greatest experiences involve family, friends and good food. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 5, a husband of 11 years, and a design engineer at an equipment manufacturing company. I enjoy learning and being active, both physically and mentally. I like doing everything from reading a good book to rock climbing. Kind of a Jack of all trades. I like to cook (and I'm not bad at it either!) and I really like to eat! I believe that life is for living and that God has given us the earth to both learn and experience the beauty of creation. I love discovering more about the world around me and I especially love sharing what I learn with my children. I enjoy music and singing. My wife and I sing together often and have performed in choirs, sung duets and solos in church and at many other venues. I like watching movies and reading good books. There is nothing like a good story. I like writing as well and hope to get some good stories of my own published some day. Most of all, I like creating things with my own hands. I enjoy hard work and feel good when I can offer my sweat and tears to create something worthwhile.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the gospel, going to church each week, attending seminary, etc. But I had to experience a conversion to the gospel and make the decision that I was going to live it. When I was in high school I came to the conclusion that if the gospel wasn't true, there was no point in living it and I was going to live my own life without all these "rules". I took the decision very seriously, knowing that if I made the decision lightly I may one day have to answer for that decision. I began to study The Book Of Mormon feeling that if it were true, then Joseph Smith was a prophet and Jesus Christ truly was the Son of God. After studying for a time, and being faced with some difficult decisions, I prayed, asking if there really is a God and if He heard my prayers; if Jesus was the Savior and really knew me; if The Book Of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith really was a prophet. I received an answer that day through the witness of the Holy Ghost. I determined from that day on to live the gospel as best I could and to do whatever it took to prepare myself and those around me to return to live with my Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time. I strive each day to face the challenges that await me and try to do those daily, small and simple things that will bring about joy in this life for me and those around me. I strive to study the gospel daily both individually and with my family. I encourage my children to read the scriptures and hope to nurture in them a love of the gospel. I have served in a variety of callings including serving as a primary teacher instructing nursery or primary children in the stories and doctrines found in the scriptures, a youth adviser and teacher, a clerk and a missionary. I also serve as a home teacher, visiting families each month in hopes that I may strengthen and encourage other members of the ward in their testimonies and their determination to live the gospel. I enjoy teaching and find that as I strive to teach others, especially little children, I am instructed by the Lord and my strength and understanding increase.
