Hi I'm Whare

I'm a Mormon and was raised in New Zealand.

About Me

Greetings, if you are wondering about my name-Whare, it is New Zealand Maori and means house, but I truly love my name because it was handed down to me. I am a dad with a beautiful wife and 2 beautiful daughters. I like creative writing and have written 1 nonfiction book. In addition I like gardening, playing the harmonica and other things. I work as a caretaker and know that Heavenly Father always blesses his children. I have done art for exhibitions and try to keep busy. I also have a psychiatric history but now I am active in "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints".

Why I am a Mormon

I was a mixed up youth but had good and bad times in my life. I got in serious trouble and my residence was in an institution. Hospital made me humble myself and the goodness of our Heavenly Father blessed me. I had faith in "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" and slowly after many years of following gospel truths, I was baptized at the age of 25 in 1995. I can remember while I was in hospital feeling the Holy Ghost close by me, encouraging me and directing me and in Heavenly Fathers own due time I received a remission of all my sins through baptism and a lot of help. Hospital was more like a blessing to me. Now I am active and very busy with church callings and assignments in my ward. I want to live a Christ like life. My testimony to all my beloved brothers and sisters out there is this. I testify that Heavenly Father lives and is a righteous loving God. I testify of Jesus Christ and know his teachings are so true. Joseph Smith is a prophet of the Eternal Father. "The Book of Mormon" is true and the word of God. "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" is the true church of our God the Father. Thank you for this opportunity to share with you. In the name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

How I live my faith

I participate in service projects like painting houses, wood cutting for firewood, help moving furniture and things from home to home. Home teaching once a month helps me to share the gospel to families and also be a friend. At home we have family home evenings (sometimes combined with other families) and family prayers and I try to participate in church programs as much as I can; like attending church on Sundays. I pray every day and read the scriptures so much. I read books that teach me things and motivate me to do good. I love "The Book of Mormon". I also enjoy being with my family and try to be a good husband and father. I love my families and dear friends because of so much support they give me. I love my Dad and Mum because they love me and always been there for me. I love writing and keep a journal which is therapy to me. I like to think that I am a missionary among my families and friends. I have learnt to repent and continue to learn more and more from the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also love helping people. These are what I have always wanted to do.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Whare
We are asked to sort out our lives of any problems we may have and become righteous. Heavenly Father's prophets have said that we must repent of all our sins. Jesus Christ taught that we must be baptized for the remission of sins. We are baptized by total immersion in water by someone who has the Lord God's priesthood authority. In addition, then come out of the water and shortly afterwards when dry, we're confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and receive the Holy Ghost. When we have been baptized we make covenant's with Heavenly Father to keep His commandment's to the end of our lives and to learn from Jesus Christ Gospel. In return our Heavenly Father promises to forgive our sins and we live a clean life. Show more Show less
